  1. I've never really had an issue with the rate of steering. I guess I understand what your concern is, but have you ever really had an issue with it? If it were a maverick you may want less rotations.... due to speed/handling... but being more of a utilitarian rig I'm not so sure it's needed. Not having all the info on the mavericks steering box, maybe it has a different ratio and can be swapped.... might be something to look into... Again, GOODLUCK!!!
  2. Well, first off let me welcome you to the forum!! You'll find there are some super great people here with plenty of info, and willing to help... Not exactly sure how wide you are wanting your rear bumper, but my stock CanAm bumper is 67" wide and I have a 2019 xt cab... Just remember that the bumper tilts with the bed. So keep that in mind when figuring the bumper ends... my tube bumper just rubs my 32's when the bed is tilted back. Hope this helps. Joe and Bear
  3. Well, as for the steering. I try not to turn the wheel while not under power. Not sure it's good on the DPS unit. I've had my DPS unit go off center and needed recalibrate it... Ended up buying my own BUDS unit to deal with it as well as other issues a buds unit is required for. Some feel that may be overboard, but with the cost and time of dealer service.... The buds was not that bad... Hope everything works out.
  4. Well first off, let me welcome you to the forum. This sounds like a new one with the winch/reciever? Although I did get the " you can't use the dual battery isolator in mine with a heater... 2019 xt cab... but I did it.... so maybe it can still be done... just gotta think outside the box... as for 27k... I feel ya.... but I'm WELL OVER 30K NOW.... The addiction is real... and I'm still a few K from done... 😉 Have you by chance added an insulation kit to your ride? Or even added an aftermarket sound deafening insulation to help regulate the heat by keeping it in a bit better... Another thing I did was got a thin horse trailer mat and cut it to fit as a floor mat... helps with road noise as well insulates the floor a bit from the cold. Good luck, Joe and Bear
  5. DAMN!!! Although I have a 19 two door... I thought the 30k+ I have in Bear was crazy... But He's pretty loaded... CONGRATS on the new toy... Welcome to the forum!! Have fun and STAY SAFE!!! Joe
  6. I added an extension flap to my full flares... I'll look for pictures... heck... I'll go take some... I wanted to use a truck mud flap... but when it needed them a rear floor mat for a mini van was all I could find where I was... has worked well enough I've never changed them.... I used to have mud come through the windows... now it stays on the lower rear corners of the doors... Good luck...
  7. It just so happens I have two stockers right now. I like gates belts when I can find them... But Dayco makes a decent belt... real key is getting it seasoned in... nothing much too it... but nice thing about doing it while the belt on your rig is still good.... you can use it as your spare and it only requires one swap other than replacing the TORCHED BELT....
  8. Well hello and let Bear and I be the first to welcome you here to the forum.... You will find there are some pretty good people here and PLENTY of info foatin' around... whether it be be in the builds department.... or heaven forbid you have mechanical issues... One thing is for sure.... THE ADDICTION IS REAL!!! Have fun and STAY SAFE!!! Joe and Bear (my 2019 hd10 XT cab)
  9. I use aftermarket belts all the time... Trick is to season your belts... in that you want to heat cycle them... remember ehen you need a belt you're gonna be in a pickle... and putting a NEW belt is only gonna take some life out of it right off the bat if you start smoking it ... but.... if you swap out your belt now for a new one.... and break it in nicely.... you will be all set with a "seasoned" belt in perfect condition RTG!!! I like running kevlar belts... Joe
  10. Been there... actually dropped the plates to get a rattle out that just DROVE ME " NUTS".... Well, TO SPACE!!! Actually... a spacer from the skid bar brackets... used a piece of 1/2" black pipe as a spacer.... but the OEM spacer ended up HAVING TO COME OUT!!! Lol... 😉
  11. I've never had an issue with an oil leak. All the stuff that comes with "new" rigs... hopefully everything is caught prior to warranty expiring...
  12. Welcome to the forum!! Lots of good people and great information here. The addiction is real!!! Have fun and STAY SAFE!!! Joe and Bear
  13. Welcome to the forum... Sounds as if yer getting yer feet wet already. I'm not so sure I wouldn't be taking off those skids and finding out where that bolt goes/went??? Wouldn't think that would have been just left behind... Especially if I were riding in such extreme conditions... Beautiful photos
  14. I can get 100+/- miles doing some pretty muddy/ snowy wheeling.... And not real easy on the throttle..
  15. Probably gonna need to call canam brp... Not so sure you're gonna find an aftermarket skin... what happened to your outer panel?
  16. Well, first off let me say I GET IT... But, as per break in.... the rig should be pampered yes... but not SO PAMPERED that it glazes over the rings and causes other issues... One should drive it moderately with BURSTS of power... This will help setting the rings... it should NOT be limited to ONLY slow driving.... As for 30 miles.... that's nothing really... maybe you can look at it as though someone got you 30 miles closer to a broke in machine ready for FULL TIME ACTION. Just a thought.... as for an extended warranty??? HELL, THEY DON'T WARRANTY DAMN NEAR ANYTHING ANYWAYS!!! They didn't cover the window swiychrs that went out under 500 miles... and the front diff that is known junk??? NO WARRANTY..... So.... in my eyes I'd have rather taken the 200 cash!!! Good luck, Joe and Bear
  17. I'm not sure... but maybe your XMR rims are all the same size unlike the the standard/cab models... I went with 5+3 rims on Bear.. They have worked out great for me....
  18. YEAH!! WHAT ANDY SAID!!! LOL... Any time you add rotating mass the clutching will change... Is it noticeable? Yes... IMO... is it terrible? Not terribly.... Would a clutch kit/upgrade make a difference? You bet!!! Is it mandatory? Depends on what you are asking out of your Defender..... As per Andy's statement..... you can ask six of us here and get EIGHT ANSWERS..... LOL... My suggestion to you would be to put the tires on and give it a test drive... If you find it's not working for what you need out of your machine..... then you can upgrade your clutch... I'm not positive... but being here for a bit now.... I think the front axles take the most abuse with the upgrade in tire size.... maybe others could chime in on that? Axles vs. Clutches??? Or, front differentials? As far as that goes.... But again, it all goes back to what we ask of our machines... I will ALWAYS say, "If you build them, THEY WILL BREAK!!" 😉 Good luck, Joe
  19. Well let Bear (my 19 HD10 XT Cab) and I be the first to welcome you to the forum.. You will find the forum is full of great people and LOADS of info... Good luck with your new ride, will be waiting for pics... Joe
  20. Nope... although... when I tilt my bed my bumper rubs on my tires... 😉
  21. I will be curious to know... Are you mounting them on the stock rims? On my unit the rims are different widths that will change the sizing of same size tires.. considering the fronts are narrower than the rears it will make the front tires taller than the rears on a wider rim.... Good luck, Joe
  22. Pretty sure the reason you can't find the kit is because they started putting the forward A-arms on 2020's and newer... I may be wrong, but I think you already have the clearance. You may need a slight lift... but I think you are good to go... If you were here in Oregon I'd let you try my 32's on for fittment... Good luck, Joe
  23. Hey Don, I'm not positive but I believe your XMR already has the lift and A-arms to accommodate the 32's you are looking at. I may be wrong, but i pretty sure yer good to go... What size are on it now??? Good luck, Joe
  24. Never had any luck with the push this/hold that method. But my buds unit cleared that right up... 😉 GOOD LUCK!!!
