  1. You can start by reading the builds section in the garage section on this site where there are several builds that explain how to get extra clearance without throwing a whole bunch of parts and money at it. My 2019 Defender XT HD 10 build runs 30" tires on stock rims with the springs cranked up and a small lift and no rub.🙂
  2. I think the cautious answer is yes but the best place to start is Can-Am Defender Accessories | Can-Am Off-Road. You can select your machine in the options list and than compare by selecting the option that has what you want to buy. If the above site doesn't have what you want go to the parts site and compare.🙂
  3. My 2019 HD10 XT Cab starts fine in the cold weather but I don't start it often at anything colder than -30C.🙂
  4. My 2019 Defender HD10 Cab XT came with keyed factory door locks, perhaps there is a way to retrofit them to your machine?🙂
  5. Not as long as your trailer is rated for about 2500 lbs, and you can balance the load of the sxs over the tires. Check the weight of your sxs and add some weight for any extras on it versus the capacity of the trailer which I imagine is single axle? If you are close to max trailer weight consider loading the sxs forward so that you put more hitch weight on the pickup.🤔
  6. Cylinder head #2 is the one you can see when you open the cargo box. I don't have the code list but before I would be looking at the fuel side I would check the ignition side. Spark plug, spark plug wire and coil. I haven't seen any postings on injector problems but depending on your fuel source etc. it could be the fuel side starting at the sock on the pump, the pump/regulator, inline filter etc. If the engine has lots of hours you might do a compression test/leak down test, before starting to throw parts at it?🤔
  7. My 2018 shop manual supplement has the following procedure and the specs are the same for the HD10 and HD8, you may want to check with the dealer if the spec is different for the HD9? My SWAG is that it is the same.🤔
  8. Sounds to me like Can Am will fix whatever has been damaged by the seizure. Top of piston, valve(s) and head, nothing else should be damaged or require repair on a low mileage engine. Good luck with the repair.🙂 If you want you can ask the dealer to show you the damaged parts that have been replaced?🤔
  9. Call SuperAtv and see if they can help you?🤔
  10. Check out the garage builds section for clutching and other mods by different folks.🙂
  11. Looks like it might be time to replace some of the fuel lines and or the clamps that hold them?🙂
  12. If its a stock Can Am part start with the dealer?🤔
  13. Jack up the rear end with the vehicle in neutral but safely blocked. Grab one rear wheel at a time and rock back and forth watching for unusual movement or clunk from the CV or the U joint, check the driveshaft for movement at the front of the diff and the U joint as well. Does it make the noise when the rear diff is locked and turning, if yes it may be tire slippage. If it makes the noise with the rear end open (unlocked) it may be one of the above?🙂
  14. When properly adjusted it rarely happens and it is something you could try yourself. If you lift the box you can check where the cable is secured to the transmission to see if it has loosened and you can feel the clicks when someone else moves the shift lever.🙂
  15. Here is the page from the shop manual which explains how to adjust the cable from your shifter to the transmission so that the transmission is in gear when indicated on the shifter. The cable shifter needs to be adjusted correctly and the problem will go away. The reason that the so called "ex spert" has seen this many times is because it a common problem with the cable shifter and the reason there is a built in adjustment to adjust for cable stretch or improper adjustment from the factory. The ex spert should have a copy of the shop manual and have someone read it. 😉
  16. A picture is difficult without disassembling the grill etc, in the second picture you can see a horn on each side of the grill with the top right at the same height as the black plastic that is part of the bumper cover and the horns about 5" long are pointed down. The compressor is mounted behind the black plastic horizontally so that the compressor and the horns do not reduce air flow. If you are concerned about the compressor getting wet you can find a place higher up near the top of the rad and if necessary install longer tubing to the horns. Mine quit working so I have to check if its the fuse, wiring or the compressor got wet. I do get the front fairly deep when pulling the dock and trailers, so a wave may have got the compressor wet. (The compressor is not water proof).🤔
  17. Check out the builds section, there will be some useful info there. You can get more clearance by cranking your spring adjusters to max. You can go to larger tires, also in the builds section without changing rims. Be aware that taller tires will reduce your performance a bit because of more rotating mass and taller gear ratio.🙂
  18. Starting in 2020 can am started putting a sound barrier behind the rear seat in both types of machines which helped reduce the heat as well. I have a 3 seat 2019 Cab and several of us put in a sound barrier on the back wall to reduce the noise a bit but I didn't notice the heat as a problem, but I haven't done long rides in the summer time. The thread is in the builds section if you want to check it out. You can buy the sound barrier through parts and install it yourself in the older machines. There is at least one thread on here if you want to check it out.🙂
  19. Check out this thread: 2019 Defender XT Cab HD10 ECM Monster FI reflash in the builds section. It is still running well today. 🙂
  20. I haven't installed the Rhino 2 rear axles yet but will update down the road when I do.🙂
  21. Once you get the tires installed be prepared to start researching axles if you get in the steep and deep. There is a thread with axle info in the builds section as well.🙂
  22. The Max is longer so it gets hung up much easier in the mud or muskeg, trees or rocks. The Max is a family, nice trail machine. Good luck with the one you choose.🙂
  23. The doors and front window are not water tight or air tight; its normal to have water come in even from a hard rain or driving through water that is higher than the bottom of the door on my 2019.🙂
  24. I don't understand the question: I have a thread in the builds section about removing and installing the front axles and there is no locking pin? You just give the axle a good tug to remove and to install you carefully push it through the gasket you have circled and give it a real strong shove inwards, you may have to rotate it slightly so that it isn't spline on spline. The actuator is before the diff so the axles turn with the wheels all the time even in 2 wheel drive if the diff is stock.🙂
