  1. The manual shows two spring clips at the top (one towards each side) of the guage package that you have to release and it should tilt forward so that you can remove it in one piece. Not sure what tool would work best but something slim so that you don't gouge the plastic. Good luck.🤔
  2. They were not screwed in properly to begin with?🤔
  3. Did you do the compression test with the TB wide open? The numbers are within 10%. The manual dosen't have compression numbers so you may have to check with the dealer. My SWAG is that it should run with those numbers and if you can get the goo out of the block near the water pump you may be good to go with a new water pump and check the thermostat.🤔
  4. I get your concern but as long as you set the backlash as you said you should be fine. Are the tire sizes original or did you change them if yes are the fronts the same diameter (height) as the rear. I don't run in 4x4 except in the deep and on the soft trail I run in front and rear engaged but both in the open position that way I minimize the cornering effort and front to rear difference in tire size. My front tires are slightly taller than the rear even though they were ordered the same but are supposed to be different in width only. You can check out my build thread from 2019 if you need more info?🙂
  5. I installed my pinlocker in 2019 so I can't remember the shim thickness but when I checked my back lash I needed to change the shims from stock and the provided ones were in different thickness so that you could get the correct backlash through trial and error. You will need to measure your shims and sort them from thick to thin so that you use the correct ones to get your backlash.🤔
  6. Nasty looking impeller, I can see you having to replace the impeller and maybe the water pump assembly, not sure how far the plastic flowed so trying to get it out of the engine block, hoses and rad may be a chore? The impeller may have failed due to lack of coolant and the temp guage wouldn't read right if it wasn't in the coolant. If the coolant was low; the plastic may have stayed near the water pump which would make it easier to clean out. Do a compression test first and check the cylinders with a boroscope to see if they are scored due to over heating. Looks like a big job.🤑
  7. It's been years (2019) since I was up there on my machine but I suggest you get a volt meter and see which are live, mine came with the dome light.🙂
  8. On skidoos mountain machines it was 2 tanks of fuel, on the defender it wasn't noticeable until I did a reflash from MFI.🙂
  9. Not likely, most of the skidoo/can am defenders probably have a bit of a limiter built in for the first few hours that reduces the chance of early damage.🙂
  10. A full throttle run is part of the break in as long as you don't stay on it for a minute or two. IMO😉
  11. Check out the Defender site and either check the spec sheet for each or do a build for each.🙂
  12. You might check your connections at the battery to make sure they are clean and tight and also check any ground wires to the frame etc. that might be loose or corroded.
  13. I would suspect you have old gas that needs to be replaced with new and you can try and add a gasoline additive that cleans your system and injectors. If the gas had ethanol in it when it was parked you may have had phase separation and some nasty stuff in the tank that needs to be dissolved and cleaned up. Have fun with the new to you machine.😉
  14. It would seem to me that this should have been part of your kit so I would suggest you go back to whom ever sold you the kit?🤔
  15. If you have been dealing with the dealer and not Canam directly you may want to reach out to BRP care, I don't have the link but you should be able to find it and see what they say??🤔
  16. You must have had an electrical short and on my machine the gas tank is on the passenger side so not a good place. First I have seen posted about a Can am fire. Sorry to see your new ride destroyed. Was this a new machine if yes how would Can am not even inspect it prior to denying warranty or was it your dealer?🤔
  17. My 2019 Defender has the 30 amp factory Yuasa and still going strong. My 2022 Spyder came with a 20 amp wanna be Yuasa made in China and had to be replaced under warranty.🙂
  18. F 10 is the accessory fuse under the hood, the fuse numbers are on the underside of the cover.🙂
  19. Yes there is a 40 amp fuse under the front hood that powers those accessories.🙂
  20. Your post seems to be a rhetorical question? Obviously you are happy with your Teryx4 and its your money so my experience isn't likely to change your mind?🤔
  21. I have not tried the turbo belt but if it is a 1/2" longer my guess it will act more like a worn out belt because it will not engage at the same spot as the stock belt on startup and you may not be able to adjust it tight enough?🤔
  22. Once you tear it down you may have a better idea of what the problem is? Blown head gasket, warped head or where the leak is coming from? It may have seized because of the coolant leak into the piston area causing a hydrolock or coolant getting into the cylinder washing away the lubricant and the piston seizing to the block. You can start by removing the spark plugs and see what they look like and try the starter again to see if it is still seized if not what cylinder did the coolant get into? Have someone watch the spark plug area when you engage the starter to see which one spits coolant?? Confirm with a compression check. You may be lucky and just need to replace the head gasket?? Your water pump may have a bad seal and the antifreeze got into the oil by the shaft?? If the engine is seized you may be better off buying a short block once you determine what the problem is? I hope its an easy fix.🤔
  23. You might want to check the fuel pressure? O rings won't fix a bad fuel pump.🤔
  24. You can check the Can am accessory catalogue and see if the windshield you are looking at fits multiple years, otherwise you have to check with the supplier of the windshield if it is aftermarket. Be sure to check out the garage builds section to see if someone did an install of the windshield you are interested in or any other parts you may want to buy. Welcome to the forum.🙂
  25. Check out my build in the garage section. I am not a high miler but I have 30" and no problems with stock front axles after I broke front both stock ones on my first trip.(as far as I know Turner and Gorilla are the only two who build HD axles for the front). I bought Rhino 2.0 for the rear but have not put them in service yet as the stock ones are fine so far. Mine were made in China. Since Calvos don't appear to be any help you might consider taking their lift out. It may be worth a call to Turner and Gorilla and see what they suggest before removing the lift; they may offer a warranty or a solution. The picture looks like you have very high angles at the CV joints? FWIW🤔
