Never had any luck with the push this/hold that method. But my buds unit cleared that right up... 😉

GOOD LUCK!!!

I have a 2019 CanAm Defender and did as Andystoy19 said on Oct 28th 2019 and it worked just find for me.  The only change would be that I had to use the "S" set/select button to change the delay to show my milege.

1) With vehicle in park, turn ignition key on but do not start the engine.

2) Select the vehicle total mileage using the Mode ( I used the "S" set/select button to change to mileage) button.

3) Press the Set button and hold while you switch the Hi and Low beam 3 times quickly. From the time the set button is pressed the hi and low beam activation must be complete in less than 5 seconds.

4) Release the set button and turn the key off.

5) Do not turn the key back on until the multifunction gauges turns off.

You would think that BRP could figure out an easier method than this, LOL.

I’ve tried so many times with no luck. What a joke to even have this as a way to clear codes. Might get the buds software just to make some extra money on the side cleaning codes for guys. So stupid.

Holy S button I got it. Felt like I hit the lotto when it flashed my defenders name then no maintenance message. Still such a dumb system. I got to thinking about the issue stated by others that you can’t get to high without passing low. This was my prob I think and maybe others also.

put the machine lights to low before I turn key

then turn to accessories but don’t start

Hold down the s button wile on total mileage

do the hi low hi low hi low but stay on low

release s button and shut key off all wile still on low

wait for total shutdown

that’s what worked for me. My defender has both s and m buttons so not sure about others that only have one single button. I never use those lights so never really thought about the starting with them already on low. Hope this helps a few others.

Have the same problem, only 1 button on the display. Tried this several times and ways. Talked to the dealer and he said only way to clear the "maintenance required" is to take it to the dealer and they have to clear it....just changed oil and new spark plugs, 1023 miles and 212hrs. Probably came on at 200 hrs. 2018 Can-am defender Max HD8

I can’t speak for the single button models as I’ve got the duel but I was also told by a stealership that I couldn’t do it without buds. Just another thing they got wrong. Glad the fine folks on this site can outperform the dealerships lol

I have a single button model and I had to get creative to get mine to reset.

put the machine lights to low before I turn key

then turn to on but don’t start

Hold down the s button while on mph/rpm screen

do the hi low hi low hi low but stay on low

release s button and shut key off all wile still on low

wait for total shutdown

I couldn’t use the total milage/ OD or it would change my mph/rpm screen. I hope this is helpful

This worked for me 2016 hd10.

It had to be the MPH/RPM screen.

Each time I tried on the OD it would change from that to the MPH/RPM screen after holding the set/mode (I only have 1) button for about half a second.
