  1. No actually experience with the plastic dip on my defender but I’d be leaning towards a vinyl wrap.

  3. Just doing a night collection for the 2022 maple season. Been an odd start but things are getting better.
  4. Not much comes from Canada these days maybe a shelf shortage might also open some folks eyes to another problem we have in Canada. Hope you guys get your toys sooner then later.
  5. Can’t wait to see how the door build goes for ya. I’ll be starting the same thing in a few weeks. Been putting it off since last year. My only issue is adding a window that will open. Do you have any plans or thoughts on that???

  7. If your thinking doors and hard windshield with wipers then cab unit is definitely the way to go. Its insulated and sealed and better noise reduction my 2 cents. My 19 HD10 isn’t factory cab but my next one will be. if your somewhat handy then most the aftermarket stuff is more time the anything. I like to fab and tinker so to me saving a few bucks is always wicked. Also to consider if your financing some times it’s nice to add those things into a payment instead of being out of pocket the cash. Especially at a zero% kinda thing. Talking more full doors and tire/rim upgrades expensive option kind of stuff. plenty of good aftermarket options for the small stuff like audio. Or go this route cost was about 500 Canadian total plus 8-10 hours work kinda thing. 4 kicker marine speakers plus head unit were the real cost. Pods were cheap to build. No way I was spending 1000 bucks for the cam am set up plus I didn’t have the liner. Some real nice set ups aftermarket but they don’t come cheap.
  8. My 2019 defender has also made the sound from the pressure relief valve when my tank gets hot and pressurized. It’s done it from day one so I’m not to concerned. Usually only notice it on really hot summer rides when I pit stop or park the buggy. I just pop the gas cap to shut it up lol. I’m in Canada so I’m far from desert like conditions. I’ve always just thought it’s working if I hear the noise lol. Can’t hear it when it’s running maybe cause it’s pulling fuel or just so quiet. I have never had any fuel smell or running/starting issues. The start of this post with three fuel pumps in a row sounds suspect on dealers part.
  9. Ya I chose to mount my rear winch inside trailer hitch. Seems pretty strong the little i e used it. I think it looks wicked in the bumper but for pulling Polaris and Honda’s around I’ll stick with mounting to something that can’t break off. Plus this way I can also take it off to use on anything with a hitch and 12v Lol
  10. I’d run a second aux fuse bar for additions or mods requiring power like that. Much safer way to go plus no cutting or splicing with factory harnesses. I try and keep everything isolated when I can. Hard to really say without knowing what group of wires your talking about. If your trying to find ignition power the 12v lighter socket is a good place but not sure about using it with a 52” bar. If that wire kit is heavy enough for that lights bar then the factory power bar should have no issues with it smoking.

  12. Lights were a very must for me. Oh those yellow lights had to get upgraded. I actually chuckled to myself the first time I turned them on at night. Darn you brp. Kolpin gun holders were a very cheap and easy mod. Doors for winter use. rear winch and wired remotes were also a must for what I needed this thing for. bumpers help for protection but the rest in my case is just as one guy on here calls his rig money well wasted.
  13. I wouldn’t recommend using as a tie down for trailering your rig especially with the factory plastic hinges. Have a look at them and I think you’ll agree. Tire nets is the way to go all day long plus not putting load against suspension. Regular straps well maybe not the fastest or cleanest definitely a better option in my opinion.
  14. I also got the can and doors added tape to latch posts plus weather stripping to the parts that were bare around the door. No noise at all. Will be building uppers for them real soon.

  17. I can’t speak for the single button models as I’ve got the duel but I was also told by a stealership that I couldn’t do it without buds. Just another thing they got wrong. Glad the fine folks on this site can outperform the dealerships lol
  18. I wouldn’t clean it with anything either unless something was obviously on it. Break in is most important in a new belt and since we are on the topic make sure to break in your spare belt before you need it. Break it in then switch belts so the spare you carry is ready when you need it.
  19. If you don’t go deep and your already sitting on a lift and portals then I think you’ll be just fine without but I’ve never herd someone say I should have never put a snorkel on it. As for your battery already crapping out at 15 hrs Id take it back unless you got a bunch of lights or other accessories running and then it could be wiring. I’ve had the stock batt without any issues since 2019. I did add a secondary battery and an isolator when I built the overhead audio system but the stock ran all my light bars and oem accessories no probs for the first couple years. I’ve herd the stock ones were crap also but no issues here. I just always thought people were expecting to much from the oem small stock ones.
  20. I can run no front with a back but front with no back is just way to dusty. If I have the front in then I have the rear I’m also.
  21. Be lucky if you could by a moped around me this year. Most the shops showrooms are empty. Pretty crazy
  22. I like to stick to the oem oils and lubes but more So I can’t hear I wasn’t running the proper oils if I have an issue. Once your warranty is up I guess it’s your call really. If you doing proper fluid changes with proper weight oils I’m sure you’ll never see a difference in performance or wear on a side by side.
  23. Seems like you definitely got a a few extra problems with your defender. I’ve actually herd a few issues with the 2021 lineup altogether. A few friends are having issues with renegades and outlanders. Plus with what I’ve seen and herd online it’s got me feeling ok about having a 2019 lol. I’m sure with the shortage in stock plus the demand right now for them they are rushing them out as fast as possible. Forget a few bumpers not properly secure hose clamps poor electrical connections. I remember even when I was shopping hearing the door seals were not the best on the defender. I didn’t get the cab doors so can’t really speak on that but it’s well documented I think. My half’s took a bit of manipulation to get a good seal. I’m sure most the install guys are like close enough the seat belts do suck I’m with ya on that. I’m sure they will fix the leaking coolant but if you can do it yourself I would. My windshield will squeak after some dusty trails also but it goes away after I wash it. I wouldn’t expect much from a rep after you have bought your machine. Especially after you’ve started to upgrade and modify it. Maybe if you payed their crazy labour costs on every install you could argue it but I feel ya for the cost you should not have to deal with such bs being a 2021. I think you’ll love it with all the kinks out.
