  1. Decided on putting a second battery in also so I can run the radio plus other accessories without the defender running. Then charging back up wile running. I’ll also be rewiring my rear winch plus possibly a work/spot light to run from the aux battery. Was going to go with the Odyssey swap out but decided on using the biggest marine deep cycle I could get into that spot.
  2. Decided it was time to add some tunes to the buggy. After looking at my online choices plus what was available during covid I decided to make some custom pods. Been some time since I worked with fibreglass but they turned out ok. So far just the 4 kicker 6.5 marine speakers but will be adding a sub real soon.
  3. It sounds like tire or snow build up issues to me but as you stated taking it out of 4x4 and sound stopping would make me think it’s something inside. I’d try and find some bare roads on a nice sunny day and see if it will make the sounds without snow. Easy way to eliminate snow conditions. If it’s not road conditions or even before that I’d dbl check fluids/grease and hardware. I’m sure some added noise might occur if I’m running in 4x4 vs 2x4 with my 19 hd10 nothing I’d call excessive humming or harmonic. I’m no pro though. I have a tendency to be able to hear those small non normal new sounds or as I call it the beginning of the end and usually if it’s super hard to track down I have to let it get worse before I can find the prob. In your case I’d be playing hard the next couple rides and if it pops letting warranty cover.
  4. Ps the glass in it is from Madison square gardens arena glass.
  5. Thanks I’ll prob have to get rid of the rack this summer as she is getting snorkeled and it’s not going to work. just easier to start from scratch then try and make it work. If anybody is interested in it I might post it up for sale. It’s built tough that’s for sure. Might even include the saw holder as I’ll be building another back rack to work with the snorkels and that saw holder works great with the rack. Like it was made for it lol.
  6. Ya I’d be interested in seeing what a fab shop did for ya. And cost. I’m leaning towards getting the oem half doors and just fab the upper section myself. The half doors actually uses the upper hinge point and runs a piece of 2-3 inch steel (looks like) up to that upper hinge. Should be able to make the window section pretty easy plus should still look alright. Be a summer project for me I think. Still can’t believe it’s been a two year battle.

    Seat belt extender

I put mine behind the seat then buckle it up. Can’t even feel it back there. lol
  8. I wouldn’t run a wiper kit with the hard window if I were you. They will definitely scratch and make it a pain to ride with when the sun is at your face. If your looking to add wipers I’d go with glass.

    Full doors

Those armor tech do look good but are 2500+ In Canada and that’s not including shipping. I live pretty far away from any offroad or atv shop that might be able to get me a set. I’m kinda stuck to brp/can am dealer, online ordering or it’s competitors. Bet I could put 2 doors on my Ram for under that plus they would also have finished insides with power windows and speakers. Seals might not be tight but That reminds me if you see a defender going down the trail with Ram doors welded in place stop me and say hello.
  10. That sucks to hear drew. I was thinking about putting in an order as I’ve been waiting on can-am for well over a year to come out with soft door kits again. Seems it’s not very high on the list of things to do for them.
  11. Welcome to the group Blaine. Lots of great people and info on this site for your new toy. the first picture you posted of the 3 pole plug with cap removed is where my winch cable plugs into. I’m guessing on the newer models it’s different as the photos hunt posted looks different from under my 2019 hd10 hood. But that plug you have in the first photo hunt/bear doesn’t have it. Kinda strange since you have a 2021. Have a look at the thread 3 prong switch. I posted pics of mine.
  12. Can you change the frequency on those wireless control units? If not I’d probably try and put a power switch on to stop it from operating on others controls. Would be that hard just have to run wires up to the front panel. I’d think if more then one person was running these in a group with live power it would not be good for those not spooled out once someone winches in everybody is coming in. Let’s hope that your fairlead is a good one as it’s about to get a workout. I’d definitely be running it through a power switch if I were to put one on.

    Full doors

I’ll prob do the same with half doors and fab the uppers.
  14. Nice looking bacon in the back. Welcome to the forum and no shortage of mods you can do and info on the site. People are awesome and super helpful.
  15. I’m on the Bruce peninsula. How about yourself? I’m not a big fan of the super atv doors either When I was talking to a can am rep on the phone they were not much help with any info about if doors were in the workings. Same thing through email. I was actually left feeling that they might not be to concerned about the issue. They only say to check with your dealers and my dealers say to contact can am directly as they have no idea of any doors coming out. To be totally honest I might actually sell the defender if it doesn’t make it ice fishing again this year. One of the things I was really looking forward to using this defender for in my off season. But with no doors it will stay tucked away and only used a few times a winter just like last year 😢😢😢 with no doors I’m better off using my sled or quad to get out ice fishing and that sucks big time with how much these toys are to have to put it away for the winter.
  16. That’s the best 20 dollar can am part available if you ask me. I use the front winch all the time and it really is nice to not only have the rocker in the cab.
  17. I’m going to have to look into those PB doors a bit more. I remembered seeing them last winter but were back ordered Can-am is not really in my good books right now. I’ve been trying to get soft doors for my unit with no luck from dealers. Seems their soft doors were pulled from the shelves a year + ago due to fit-mint issues or quality control or some bs. I bought my 19 defender hd10 in April almost two years ago. Since it was April I decided to wait on the soft doors till closer to the fall I own a campground in my area and don’t want doors on in the summer. Between the time I bought and a few weeks before my campground season ended the doors were no longer available. I’ve been in contact with many dealers as well as corporate with no answers. Pretty sad that can am has just not bothered to come back out with a new soft door for the defenders. Might have made different choices if I had known that removable soft doors weren’t an option. Now I’ll go with half doors and fab uppers myself or be looking around. Not being able to open the windows on those puddle buster doors kinda sucks as I think they are the best looking aftermarket ones I’ve seen yet. I thought about just pulling the trigger on hard doors but I don’t think they will be fun to remove all the time nor are they meant for it so I’m sure I’d damage hardware eventually. Plus they are almost 6 grand in Ontario Canada. I would have been better off getting a cab unit so at least it was more insulated plus all the other stuff that comes with those cab units. Hence why I’m not so happy with my dealer.
  18. Thanks for the pics. Looks good.
  19. What a beast. If only they had the pro in 2019 when I bought. Very nice looking machine you have there. Snow is coming enjoy.
  20. Back to the mods lol built a chain saw mount for the headache rack. Easy to remove or put on even with a saw in it. I use this thing for so many tasks I don’t like to put permanent accessories in the back. I don’t really like the idea of clamping my bar in those kolpin mounts to secure it in place also not having the sheath on it just seems like I’m asking to damage it or something else. Around my property I’m sure it would be ok but to trail ride and adventure around I like to have it a little more protection
  21. Very nice looking ride you have there. Just wondering if you’d add some more pics of the snorkels you made and what it looks like under the bed. I’m going to do my own as well. Been pondering ordering the sya raisers and doing the piping work myself also from abs. Yours look good so I might not even order the raisers. Thanks ps be love the name money well wasted
  22. Last year my back window came out on me going around 80km down the road. Was taking my boys to hockey and we took the front windshield out as it was hot as hell. I thought about the back coming out but not hard enough to remove it. I got lucky and it actually landed on the hockey bags in the back box. Pulled over secured it and kept on trucking. I don’t get lucky much but that day I did. My boys friends mom was behind us in her brand new Jeep. I’ve trailered it several times with only the front and back windows (can am hard coated) installed with no probs. Sure do like that super atv back window though. Good choice 👍
  23. Looks good. I too wanted a winch on the rear so I built one also. I made mine to fit into the receiver so it was removable and could be used on other units also. no rocker switch but I might add one with a quick plug and play. Pics in my build.
  24. Must be higher noise levels in those cab units cause with my hd10 xt the wife and I can talk no probs going down trails even on roads at say 80ish km it’s not that bad. I’ll be adding doors this fall so I’ll see if it increases noise. I have the plastic windshield and have been thinking about adding some air scoops with some abs or pvc. Adding a gate or damper to it to adjust the amount of air coming in. I’m thinking I’m getting the glass with wiper for this winter so I’m not to concerned about putting a few holes in the plastic one.
