  1. I’m not sure switching to an maverick will give you the same workability as your defender just from looking at the few pics you posted with the snow plow and working food plots looks like you have the right machine to me. Especially if you going to be in and out often when working. If strictly trail then the defender might not be the one but once work is added you just can’t beat it. I’m my opinion. I don’t find the seats to be bad on long rides and I have a super bad sciatic issue. I was also concerned about the kinda straight up position when I was shopping but that hasn’t been an issue. I’d try sitting in the xmr seats to see if it will make much of a difference before you buy them. Seat position looks the same just a bit more padding on the sides to keep you in your seat.
  2. Nice that you got it quiet now and thanks for the feedback
  3. I was thinking the noise meant it was releasing press like it should.
  4. I get the fuel tank vent line noise From time to time when it’s real hot out and I’m having fun playing hard. That’s about the only time I’ve herd it. Good test is if you can make it do it and open the fuel cap at the same time. I bet it will stop.
  5. My break is due is due to me living in a pure sandy area. The kids get sand inside my house in the winter is so sandy. And I get a few feet of snow each year.
  6. Maybe the right bearing needs greased. Lol I had too
  7. Not sure what this has to do with break squeal but hope you get it fixed and running strait again.
  8. Ya the brake squeak is getting to me also. I’m thinking of just cutting holes in the floor like the Fred flintstones car so I can just dig my heals into the dirt.
  9. Edit turned out you can get the software
  10. Lol that’s a great explanation got a chuckle from this Canadian boy. 🇨🇦
  11. I’ve had mine just over a year and still as happy as day one.
  12. Ya buds I think is a dealer only thing but I’m not 100% on that. I’m sure brp would not let that software out to the public. Think of the $ they would loose. Make friends with the service shop guys they are the ones wrenching on can-ams all day.
  13. And welcome to the world of can am.
  14. Well start pulling fuses and recheck the wiring. With all your add ons it could be a number of things. I’d start with the blinkers first as that’s your newest mod but don’t rule out all the others just cause they worked b4. These electrical issues are why I always solder every connection and heat wrap plus electrical grease the heck out of everything harness I can reach. id also dbl check my work at those new axles you put in. Could have just taken a few rides to loosen or come loose. Sure seems like it’s going to be electrical with it going hard right as you say I guessing that means all the way. Did it go hard right fast as if you were cranking the wheel for donuts? or was it a slower hard right like your trying not to tear up the grass well turning?
  15. Just guessing but I’d say he is talking about putting some light miles on the spare belt before you need it. Belts need to be slowly broken in for 20 miles or so when new atleast that’s what I’ve always been told. Take it easy on new belts. most times when your belt blows it’s in the worst of places usually not possible to put on BRAND NEW belt and take it easy for the 20 miles. If you break in that new belt first then take it off and keep in a clean dry storage till you need it when you change it on the trail it will already be broken in and ready to get you out you could try to soak in Montreal steak spice to season but I don’t think that will help your situation.

    Full doors

I have been looking at the puddlebusters also they seem pretty good but I’ve emailed them with no response about shipping to Canada.
  17. Agree with also going back to the dealer. I’d still like you try and see if it’s an easy fix to save time and keep it in my garage but if it turns out to be major issue the dealer should still help you out. Especially since it has been in to the shop during warranty for this same issue that was never fixed by the sounds of it. If the dealer is not willing to help out just send corporate a quick email asking why this is being ignored. I have had great service for the most part from can am. You gotta figure the sales guys are going to be a bit more friendly then the service guys. One gets the Customer when he’s all excited and buying his new toy the other gets the customer when it’s broken down and he needs parts or service. Building a good relationship with the parts guy goes along way in my opinion.
  18. Would have been a great build page had you have done it from the start as you got that thing modded like a mother. Going to take some screen time now and maybe with less detailed pics of things apart unless you got pics as you were building it. Get on it hunt I’d love to follow it. Your on all the time anyways. lol

    Full doors

In Canada those oem can am doors with power windows are almost 6 grand for my reg hd10 xt 2 dr. That’s just crazy in my opinion. I could prob replace my truck doors for that price plus they also have power windows and speakers. I am also looking at full doors but not for that price. I’m thinking of getting the hard half doors and building my own uppers for it. The oem half doors frame actually goes up to the top hinge location so I’m thinking should be not to bad. I’m going to use glass from Madison square gardens I got from my buddy. He works for a company that does all the glass and boards for arenas all over.
  20. You say that now but just wait. You’ll be looking for reasons to be behind the wheel of that defender. Where I live we are allowed to run the roads so it’s to easy to put km on this thing. I take my boys to hockey sometimes use it like a third vehicle. We have lots of sand and rocks and I go out with a lot of tire spinners me included. This was another consideration for me. Pitted plastic or busted glass. A friend has put 2 glass windshields in his ranger but he understands that it can happen and doesn’t blame anybody. We try and respect the guys behind us but sometimes we creep to close and get what we get. Lol. The first one was smashed in the first 2 kms of a ride with maybe 3-400 km on the ranger. We just stashed it in the bush and got it on the way out. The second one lasted much longer but still cracked from a rock. Not as bad though. His rig is pretty sweet with heat and ac full cab so I can see why he gets glass.
  21. How much gas are you guys going through in an average day trip? Just wondering what kinda fuel amounts people are using. It’s kinda tough as each rider has a different foot but just curious about how many L or gal your using in a day.
  22. You won’t be disappointed I can tell you that. Even people that complain about issues start out with I love my defender but ..... have fun with the new toy and good luck trying to sleep this week.
  23. I’d be thinking it’s the throttle position sensor also. I’d inspect around the gas pedal to make sure nothing is getting hung up or no sticks or rocks have gotten stuck. Give it a spray of g96 lol The part about stomping the brakes to bring the idle down is pretty weird though. I guess if you had something blocking or f ing with the tps the idle would not drop no matter how hard you push the breaks. As Andy said buds might be your best bet aside from inspecting what you can. Maybe try it in neutral just to see if it drops rpms like normal or if it still hangs up at 2000 If so try using your hand and watch that the pedal is working as it should.
  24. I guess anybody that planed on snorkeling there defender did it from the start with an xmr. Was thinking at least one of you fellow defender riders have put aftermarket snorkels on your rig. milk be the first one I guess. Got it down to two brands I think. Highlifter or sya. I’m really wondering about the cvt outlet that from the factory blows on the exhaust. Even the oem snorkel kit puts it back to the exhaust. Non of the aftermarket ones do this no not sure what probs if any would happen. I can’t see that small amount of cooling being that big of a deal. Am I wrong?
