  1. i run the stuff that is compatible with either color from advance auto. nothing special for me. straight coolant too, not 50/50. steve
  2. if you have a kit already, youll have to end up using some yellow LEDs in place of something as well since a blinker needs to be yellow or red. the corbin lights turn to yellow when they flash so they have it covered. the oem set does not have any yellow leds. if you are doing your own kit, youll have to stick with the small ones most likely. steve
  3. corbin custom works has the ghost light kit that is awesome, much better than the small LED's and worth the money. its the best plug and play kit youll find imo. steve
  4. id probably be having a heart to heart with the dealer about it, then if they dont want to play call can am. most of the time if they break something, it is the reverse chain on them. not the best design and could certainly be upgraded with the x3 rear diff and just do away with the turf mode all together. sorry about your bad luck, i enjoy mine along with my x3. no issues with it for 1400 miles this summer other than a spark plug that wasnt gapped all the way. hope you have better luck with whatever you buy next. steve
  5. Huh that's a great idea. I tried lowering the mount point at the top on my x3 and my wife wasn't fond of it. Steve
  6. guys run setups like this all the time with 4 seaters and such without much for issues. the sxs and toy hauler pages on facebook are loaded with them. the tough part with the defender is the height, like others have said, overpasses and such will be tougher. time for a cage chop! steve
  7. done deal then, id pay that all day. steve
  8. if they havent done one before, i wouldnt mess with having them learn how to do it, thats for sure. i bet all of 6 hours for an experienced person to do it at a dealer. like you said, a call will tell you a lot. steve
  9. i havent put one in, just know of people who put them in. they dont have much fun doing it haha. if you can afford the $1000-1500 to have a dealer put it in, by all means have them do it haha. its probably most of day job to get done on your own from what ive heard. i like to know things are done how i want so most accessories i put on myself. steve
  10. inferno is probably your best bet for heaters as well, as suggested already. steve
  11. i bent my lowers around to get them to fit better. gotta do what you gotta do on them i feel like. these frames are mass produced and arent as consistent as youd think so fitment can be tough on them. steve
  12. seems to be like that on all of them, if you find an extension let us know. i tried one on my x3 without any luck. might be easiest to put it on a trailer and take it to an auto parts place that will let you take them outside to try to see if one works. steve
  13. looks great so far! make sure to share the rest when done. steve
  14. https://marqcadeng.com/shop-mce-offroad/ols/products/can-am-defender-lower-dash-air-block-off-plates that is probably the best of the solutions i found for it. might work well for you. steve
  15. it might be in the owners manual, but most likely in the service manual instead. get the front end up higher than the rest of the machine and let it run long enough to get it to full temp for a while. watch the coolant bottle and see. at least it should push out any bubbles that are in it, just because it lets coolant out of the bleeder doesnt necessarily mean that there isnt air in the system somewhere. steve
  16. might be low on coolant, id probably start there and make sure the system is burped all the way and doesnt have air in it. steve
  17. my max isnt that hot, or at least anyone that has been back there doesnt complain. maybe when its 90+ but its not in the front then too. steve
  18. i do run a full rear windshield as well. it probably helps a little but it still swirls in. best bet would be a flip that you can open any time you can. i have 4 round 2" vents evenly spaced across the top and 2 larger kemimoto vents on the bottom that are centered with the driver and passenger seats and still get some dust. nothing except a full sealed cab with an air conditioner or heater will keep enough pressure in it to keep it from sucking dirt in but so far, the more vents the better. the flip will be my next one if something happens to my poly. get an electric one, then you can adjust in as high as you want. steve
  19. i dont think it will be an issue with reversing the connections. the winch doesnt know which way it is going, only that the solenoid triggers one way or the other. cant help on the bolts and mount, havent been down that road. steve
  20. Anyone know if the housing is the same on the defender as it is on other machines for the gauge cluster? I want to mount my dynojet PV3 on my cluster so i can monitor stuff with it but not sure if an existing x3 mount or a mav trail mount would work on the housing. Thanks, steve
  21. looks like something from henn racing that he makes for the x3, a mountain bike style caliper brake, or a different setup maybe would work for a mechanical brake in mi. this could be something promising with a flip over handle and cable. seems like it would be easy enough to fab a bracket to go next to your caliper and mount if it will slip over the rotor. https://www.amazon.com/Go-Kart-Disc-Brake-9511-TH1000/dp/B01ETURE5U/ref=sr_1_28?crid=6428D1M289UY&keywords=go+kart+brake+kit&qid=1665516032&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI2LjMzIiwicXNhIjoiNi4xOSIsInFzcCI6IjUuNjMifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=go+cart+brake+kit%2Caps%2C112&sr=8-28&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc steve
  22. esp if you like to party! time for axles with bigger meats. steve
  23. backs might needs spacers and will definitely need them to be in line with the fronts anyway. fronts will probably rub at full lock, might be ok with the lift though. most guys that are running anything over 32" seem to be running the forward arms on machines. give it a whirl, can always do other stuff if they do rub. steve
  24. make sure you get one that you can drive, also carry a big fire extinguisher with you. steve
  25. congrats and welcome to the group! steve
