Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I got the Apache LT tracks installed this morning on the HD10, also mounted the plow to check clearances. I will need to install cylinder stops on the angle cylinders and modify the plow dolly. It should be a blast running this beast this winter.

StarvinPilgrim - what kinda blade did you end up with?

Sorry for the delayed response.  I wanted to wait until I got everything installed before I posted.

I went with the KFI Open Trail 72 steel blade in my original post.  So far I think it will be a very solid set-up.  I have done a little back dragging gravel in the driveway and it's a tough blade.   The blade alone weighs 110# and the mounting was super easy.  All hardware included for $655.98 is a great buy in my opinion.

Now I just need some snow to really try it out.  I'm going to try to post a pic and a video I have on my phone.   I'll try to get more detailed pics later.

Nice!  If you find that your rope or cable is wearing out prematurely, consider upgrading your fairlead to one with and oversized lower roller.  It’ll take some of the stress off the line caused by the sharp bend doing down to your blade.

My stock fairlead actually BENT under the weight of the Can-Am blade, causing the roller to seize after only 4 days of use.   The Warn upgrade seems to fix it.

Thanks for the tip!  I did notice one of the rollers was already seeing some deformation.

Just an FYI for you all using cable or Syn. rope, change out those bolts on the side fairway rollers with Button head bolts. What happens is as you push on a pile, the rope will twist without weight on it and catch on the bolt head. Which will cut and break the rope just when you need it most. ......Don't ask how I know!

Must you remove the factory winch to use the western plow?

No, it  mounts on the lower frame and the pump stays on the plow head/ frame when unhooked. Just the electrical plug on the front when not using plow.
