Has anyone installed a GMRS/Business band radio in a Defender? I see Rugged Radios sells kits for the X3 but I see nothing for a Defender.

Thanks!

I have a Midland one in mine. Didn't use any kit, just bought the radio and antenna.

I installed Rugged Radios two way in mine.  Just bought the standard radio kit and mounted it up high so it would never be submerged, but if you never drive through deep water you could mount it anywhere.  Relatively easy to install, just make sure you read their instructions or how to power the unit, run the antenna cable and how to ground the antenna.

im with Ross, rugged or utvcom would be the best bet.  personally i would go rugged since i already have a couple of hand helds that are programmed to rugged channels and some club members i ride with have rugged.  standard kit then mount as needed, where ever you want.

Nice.

did you get the resource road frequencies programmed into it?

Does Rugged Radio ship into Canada or did you have to get it in the USA?

thanks!

I'm in wi, so I didn't have any issues.  It came programmed with a bunch of stuff from rugged.  I have 2 radios so I only used what was in them to comm between the 2.  Weatherman was the one I used a bunch.  Even being high power, I wouldn't suggest them without a good headset or helmet setup to run with it.
