  1. Nice. did you get the resource road frequencies programmed into it? Does Rugged Radio ship into Canada or did you have to get it in the USA? thanks!
  2. Has anyone installed a GMRS/Business band radio in a Defender? I see Rugged Radios sells kits for the X3 but I see nothing for a Defender. Thanks!
  3. Picked up an EU variant of the Fiamm horn. The 2021 had pre-wired connections between the hood and the dash (see photo), which turned out to be a lifesaver. IMG_6243.MOV
  4. Alright I’m headed to the UK for business and am going to pick up one of the Fiamm EU air horns and try to install it. Will let you know got it goes.
  5. Great post. Can you upload a photo of the final location of the horns/compressor? How long are these horns? Fiamm has a number of models it seems.
  6. I am impressed and surprised you achieved the clearance you did on the front. While I haven’t used the lift kit you specify, I have used HCR high clearance arms (supposed to be good for 3” lift) as well as 32” Fuel tires and S3 springs. Haven’t ratcheted the springs but I’m sitting at 15” of clearance on the front and by the sounds of it I’d only get 3/4” if I were to ratchet them anyway, leaving me short of your 16 1/4”. This could be due to a heavier cab ( I drive the Max Limited) but it could also be a function of where I’m measuring. What location did you take your measurements at? Thanks
  7. HCR arms give you the 2” forward offset but also safely give you around another 3” of lift. I see you already went with the Super ATV arms but the HCR arms are the way I’m going.
  8. This ride looks a lot like what I’m looking to build. What tires did you use? I want 32 but I understand 35 is also an option with HCR
  9. Great looking rig. I’ve seen a number of attachments and racks made by owners here. Maybe on top of hunting, fishing, riding etc, I’ll need to take up welding!
  10. Cool, thanks for the recommendation on Gorilla axels. Agreed that the angle should be a concern for the CV joints. All I’m told is that it’s not an issue with the design. Hard to have faith in that claim but we shall see.
  11. If I understand you correctly, your suggesting that the arms themselves are lifted, but this doesn’t result in a lift for the machine. I’ll look more closely into it, but I think it does both. the A Arms are given an extra 1/2” of clearance, and the machine itself gets 3” of lift. This lift comes before any additional lift that would result from the bigger tire that one can use with the HCR A Arms. I’m told the forward displacement enables drivers to go as big as 35” with no rubbing. Also HCR is different company than Can Am. Not to say they aren’t shady too, but given its a different outfit, we might presume they are a more honest organization. I have them on order and will report goods they work out, which will take some time as were expecting a July shipment.
  12. Stock arms accept Apache tracks, but the aim was to find an alternative arm that would offer improved clearance and support a tire 32” or larger. Options that would achieve this were all incompatible with any track system until I found the HCR option.
  13. For anyone interested, I have answered my own question... It turns out that the HCR arms provide a 3” lift that they promise will not undermine the CV joint. These arms also are compatible with an adapter that allows them to accommodate the Apache track system. The arms have a 2” offset and tires up to 35” are run on them. An expensive solution indeed, but robust!
  14. After delivery fees, this model sells for $40 in Canada. Given the exchange rate, your price seems to be in line with ours.
  15. I have a deposit on a 2021 Defender Limited Max, and have plans to rework the suspension with high clearance A Arms on the front and rear. However I want to also be able to mount tracks on this thing and I’m not seeing many options. The Can Am high clearance arms from S3 flat out don’t work with the cab models, and Super ATV only has a fit for the front (not rear) arm on my model. Additionally, I want to be able to mount tracks on this machine at some point. Does anyone know of high clearance arms that are a fit for a ‘21 Limited AND are compatible with tracks? I sent an email to HCR but no word back yet. Thanks!
