Hello I am not a defender owner but am posting behalf on a friend that has one. He is having issues breaking steering racks, it is breaking right at the top mount. Is there any solution that anyone knows of or is anyone else having the same issues? For anyone wondering its a 2018 HD8 with power steering that is slightly lifted that originally had 32 in tires but after the first steering rack he downsized to 30in tires.

This is the first post I have seen with the problem you describe, my only suggestion would be to jack and block the front of the machine up an turn the steering stop to stop to see if the tires or any part of the steering parts are binding on anything or bent?🤔

Check into Moheadz Customs, steering rack brace.

Without seeing a picture of where/how its breaking, not positive this will be the fix, but worth a look.

One of the very first things I do to every buggy I own is upgrade to a TCP steering rack and tie/radius rods. I would HIGHLY recommend doing that.
