One that sits higher in the rear than the receiver type, hold a 3500-5000 lb winch. I have a kfi tube rear bumper and don't need or want a complete bumper set up. When I get around to it I intend to cut the plate off and mount it on top of the receiver and slightly forward to reduce the chance of hanging up in the deep stuff. You could space the winch plate up using square tubing if you want and use an extension if you want to use the hitch. Here what i had welded up and mounted to the rear of my defender. For now a Harbor Freight 3500lb winch.
