I can't get the release tool into the cam to change the CVT belt.  The compression spring is sticking through the cam.  This is blocking the tool from seating properly.

My question is "How should I fix this?"

Is the spring installed wrong?  Should I just get out the rotozip and cut it off?  From other issues I've had... Is this just more "Canadian Engineering" from Can-Am?

Let me know your experiences changing your belt and any suggestions.

Thanks

Looks like the torsion spring end is sticking out, I'm not sure why, so I would take a punch or piece of wood and try and tap the end in enough that you can screw in the adaptor and than screw in the pin to release the belt. After that I would disassemble the secondary so that you can have a look at the spring, it may be broken or twisted?

My 2019 has a compression spring(no tabs) and is very easy to disassemble.🙂

That is a great idea to check the spring.  Thanks.  I haven't had time to check it out, but I will post a picture when I get it apart.

I was able to get back to the CVT.  I used the removal bolt to punch the spring back in.  No issues.  Changed the CVT and all is good.  Thanks for the help.
