Key is off and it sounds like the fuel pump keeps turning on every few minutes

I'm not sure what year or model your machine is, but the fuse for the fuel pump should be F5 (10A) under the seat next to the battery. If you pull that fuse you shouldn't be able to start the machine because it also shuts off the injectors and injection coils as well as the fuel pump and speed sensor.

Before pulling the fuse take your fuel cap off and see if there is a puff of air if yes you may be hearing the fuel tank vent releasing tank pressure. If you hear no more noise that is likely what you heard? The fuel tank venting is normal as the fuel heats up and expands during a ride.🙂
