I would say yes, but it depends if your crawling in low or driving in high.
In high, my foot was glued like lead to the floor, that’s all there is and there ain’t no more...

Looks like Bill works for Team Industries, and might know a thing or two about clutching?

It’s 5 psi of boost.
RWHP goes up from 45-78Im told that the defender with tracks did 40 mph.
I am getting 25 mph.
I really just need it for winter, in the summer, it’s good as is.
Agree that once the hp is bumped up, it’s a slippery slope of what’s the next thing that will break ?
It’s not cheap, and could end up turning this into a giant money pit, so I may drop the pursuit; but I would still like to see some real life reviews. In case my fortunes change, lol

Well, I emailed Force Turbos to see what the skinny is on their turbo kit for the Defender.
The Defender in the installation instructions showed that it had the same tracks on it that I do, so I am hoping that they have some data, that shows the gains achieved with a turbo.
At altitude (4000') and up, I am sure that it would be a benefit, but before I send them $4K, I want to know that it will do more than roast tires....

Wow! We have tracks on our machine and at 3500 ft, we run at 5500 rpm for hours... high range, across the frozen lakes.
I will have to watch out for this! -
Anyone tried putting a hair dryer on one of these things?
It needs more hp with tracks.
-
I put a 10” rigid on the front, and two rigid dually diffused on the rear.
works well! -

Check valve in washer tubing installed near wiper motor is faulty or possibly missing?
-
Almost sounds like something flailing around in the CVT, or under the valve cover.
Let us know what they find... -
Any dust or dirt on the windshield would start micro scratches with a wiper.
I know it says you can, and some people have had good success with them, others not so much, guess it depends on riding area, type of dirt, etcI think they do require more care than a glass windshield. Have to watch what you clean it with, etc. Do not use Rain-X!
I am going to try some Glass Science on my Glass windshield. It might be the answer to keeping all of it it clean all the time.
I have the glass flip up windshield, and wiper washer. Spendy, but we think it was a good choice.
if I want to run a snorkel kit, the washer tank has to be moved.

Sorry to hear this. If you jack it up and rotate the track by hand, you might see /hear what’s causing the noise.
Can you see if the bogey wheels or shafts are bent?

We will be testing again this weekend. Over 15” of fresh!
-31C (-21F) right now, sure glad I put in heated seats, half doors and a windshield.
sure wish I put in a heater, full doors and fender flares! Oh well, at the time it seemed like a lot of $.
I need to figure out a way to make the half doors into full doors so no snow gets in... back seat is a bit snowy when it’s dry out!

I think you'll find that the wiper will scratch the windshield, even though its hard coated.
Its for that reason I went with the glass one.
I don't think they recommend putting a wiper on the polycarbonate windshields.

Glad to hear it is all good.
Just remember to disconnect it in the spring when you take the tracks off...
Can you send me a pic, of the anti rotation ( spring assembly ) on the inside of your tracks?
I think mine are now correct. I had to download another instruction sheet that is purely for adjusting the tracks...
So for the first 100km or so, mine were not behaving, and i didn't have the track module...
They are pretty amazing.. we have another foot of fresh snow, that I am going to try them out on, and see if we can get stuck. So far we have been really impressed, and I my neighbour could not believe where we were going with it.
I am currently looking at a turbo kit, because the engine seems to max out at 5500 rpm, at 3600 ft in altitude. and 5500 is torque peak. Redline is 7K. I seem to be driving it with my boot to the floor, unless we are in low range...

Thanks everyone! Lots of great advice, much appreciated!

I have a tire repair kit, on board and a compressor, but I was wondering about having a spare tire mounted, for that one time that a tire is not repairable. And, lets face it, I just want to spend $ on the DeFunder.
The question is, I never see a jack-all or anything in any of the pics, so how do you get the wheel off the ground, with a 2000 lb defender?
Curious.

Did it work ?
-
Very handy because fishing wires is a pain!!!
-
Once it’s plugged in you start the engine, and then press the mode button to confirm you’re running tracks. Have to do it every time you start the machine.
either a snowflake icon or track icon will show on the screen.

What year of machine?

Ignition switch issue?
