We have the 360 tracks and run at 3600’ altitude. It is slower (25 mph) usually cruising at 6000 rpm, and we have to use low range when going up any hill… 1/2 speed of running on wheels

We have a 2020 HD10 on Tracks… it needs a turbo for sure… but I’ll end up breaking something else, lol.

I’ll be curious to hear your results on this after it’s done!

You’ll get more range out of that VHF antenna, if it’s used when vertical.

Has anyone figured this out yet? We have a 2020 Max HD10, and get the same. The fuel sender is also malfunctioning now… and with winter approaching, I like to know how much fuel I have when out on the trails, especially when we have the tracks on.

We have the Max, and use it on tracks from December to April.On tracks, it will go anywhere and not get hung up. On tires, the underside of the machine has a few beauty marks. I thought of getting a lift kit, but Portals would be better, especially with tracks....This past weekend, we had 4 adults in it, and some firewood (12 x 1' diameter rounds, and the ride was amazing. We dumped off the wood at the cabin, and went off the trail and into some really sketchy terrain. sketchy in that 3 of the passengers didn't want to be in the car, going down the face of the butte. I would say, that if anything its the width, and not the length that causes the issues. We also used it to pull some floats out of the water; used the winch, then pulling with machine in reverse, 4WD and rear diff locked... 8'x20 floats, and it didn't even spin the tires on dry grass, I was super impressed! not sure why but pics are always upside down... its a mac thing, i guess.

Really? Or is it just because of rubbing? If so, not too concerned. Most of my buddies seem to wreck the rear, but it will be my luck that a front goes out next.

I am looking at that Hornet Outdoors Hi Lift Jack. So ticked off that I wrecked that tire! Only 500 km on it, grrr! Maybe the tire shop will tell me otherwise. I have ordered two more tires, and a rear wheel. The new wheel will be a spare, and the two rears will get the new tires, and the spare will be the one good rear tire. And I will keep the patched tire if its useable.

I have them and a couple of sleds. Defender with tracks, 4 people and all of our gear for a cookout at a lake or friends cabin, and we can all ride together. We ride the sleds for quick fast access to trails and a day of riding. Defender if it’s below -15 it’s got a heater and heated seats, lol. If the defender went 40 or 50 k faster with tracks, I would use it but sleds while limited in use are more fun!

Well it happened- got a flat- tore a 1-1/2” gap in the sidewall of the rear tire. We were headed over to a friends house, went through the trails 15km to get there and snagged a root or a rock. Sssssssssss right as we got on the road. 7 homes away from my buddies house. So after happy hour we jammed 4 or 5 bacon strips into the hole, let it sit, and an hour later aired it up. Drove back to the cabin, 35 kms of road, this time, and as of this am, it’s still holding air! We are now getting a spare, if it had happened in the backcountry we would have been screwed. 48 hours later, it’s still holding air. I don’t think I would trust it for a venture out into the woods.

I have: 12V compressor and tire repair kit. Or a spare wheel/tire if you have the room Metric wrenches and sockets I don't have the ones written down that I carry, Torx drivers not sure but T25 and T27 ring a bell Gloves for handling the steel winch cable Wired remote for the winch Front hitch. Flashlight(s) or a PETZL headlight, because those black screws are a PITA to find in a black interior. Fire Extinguisher mounted in plain view. NOCO Jumpstarter Spare belt, and BRP belt changing tools. A kevlar tow rope if not... You will want a spring style bendy extension for a ratcheting screwdriver to access the torx fittings on the belt cover. I run tracks for 4 months of the year, and every now and then, there is water inside, causing ice pellets to form... hard to get into it when its dry, worse when its covered in snow. Chain saw. / Fuel / Shovel / Axe Phone charging cords ZOLEO Satellite Communicator First Aid Kit Ratcheting Tie Downs, ropes, shackles, etc. We go into some fun areas, but they're not so fun when you can't get back out.

Do the GT Motos wiggle around in the headlight like the Beamtechs do? Compared to stock, the Beamtechs fit is not quite as solid, for some reason... So far no leaks, but I only did the Low Beam, for now, have the second set ready to go, but waiting to see how these fair in the wet!

That looks correct. I opened up the CVT, because it had some snow dust in there, which had melted, and formed into green bean sized ice chunks. Good time to clean it out, and make sure belt is in good shape, is now, before it gets caked with snow! The 715004183 looks like a 715003483 would snap on to it, but the problem is, the seat back would hit it. There is no filter on it, and the snow dust does find its way into the cab, so if you can fit the pre filter, I would do it. i will order a second one, to see if cutting out the back of the seat will allow it to fit. should have something over it. Definitely makes the cab noisier... I would have run it a different way, and made an outside air filter or something. In the summer when you switch back, you'll want something to block that hole... Or a pair of David Clark noise cancelling headphones...

That is an amazing pic... usually we see them up in Whistler, with sleds in the sling... and the owner of the sled gets a t shirt that says My Sled can FLY! from the chopper company....

Thanks Dillmania, we are ok, just cut off from the fun parts of BC at the moment... I will be curious to see how your uppers turn out, and may end up going that route if these things don't hold up. I ordered the heater out of the US... $399. plus exhchange, plus freight, plus import taxes and duties and brokerage... $399 USD, turned into $726 CDN, lol...Still cheaper than the CDN $1799 plus tax OEM unit... but geez!

I have the Can Am Half Doors. Installed some weather stripping and no issues with rattling. A bit of work to put them together, but they work well. Door straps are pretty weak, as others have mentioned. I just purchased the Off Road Armour uppers for them, and will report back once they are installed. I am also installing an Inferno Heater. The Can Am Heater required the roll cage to be removed for the installation, and if I had done that at the start of ownership, before putting on a roof, liner, windshield, wiper, and interior and exterior lighting, I "might" have considered the OEM system.... Unfortunately, none of this will happen this year, due to all of the highways to the interior of BC being closed until January, as a result of the flooding, mudslides and washouts of 4 highways....

I found them to be a bit sloppy in the housing.. either the silicone is very soft, or the fit is not as firm. Either way, I will leave them in, but didn't do the high beams, until I see if they keep the water out. I have a light bar as well, and its more lighting than all the headlights put together, so not the end of the world if I have to go back to halogen...

I have the 360 LT tracks, and they have been pretty solid. The shop I dealt with had both types of Can Am tracks in stock, but he said that for my area of use, I would be better off with the 360s. So far, I have yet to find any issue with them. You will lose about 50% of your cruising speed, 40 KM/hr is about the max... but for me, the ability to take 4-6 people out into an area they likely would never see, in the middle of winter, is worth it. you want the air intake relocation kit, and the belt cooling relocation kit, as well as the speed module, and either flares or full doors... the back seat passengers get dusted in snow when its powdery...dont know why the pic is upside down, I'm not from Australia...

I got them and did the install. bought two sets, did low beams for now, will put on highs once I am satisfied there are no issues. I found them to move around a bit in the housing, likely due to the gasket size and the weight of the heat sink. Hopefully they are water tight! Thanks again for the link!

Steelslinger, can you send me the link to the Beantech lights you purchased ? I show a few that are fabless, but not sure which ones will work- none of them say they’ll fit the 2020 Defender, lol. Thanks, BD

After talking with a tech at a dealer, the instructions appear to be correct. went with inferno heater and soft upper doors for my OEM half doors…hope it was a good decision!

Like the title says, I am going to install a heater in our Defender. Prior to purchasing the CanAm unit, I download the instructions, to see how much pain I will suffer. (Aside from the cost.) I have installed the heated seats, windshield, roof liner, plow, tracks, doors, etc, so I’m not adverse to hard work. However, the instructions show the windshield, front roof and front roll cage have to be removed! I really would like the heater, but damn, I guess I should have done it as the first thing installed, not the last. We didn’t expect that we would be using it as much as we do, and a heater was asked for by the wife. if anyone has installation tips that don’t involve disassembling it, to that level, I would like to know! If you installed the inferno heater and are happy with it, I may go that route. a bit less of a headache to install, I’m sure. TIA BD
