  1. I don't have a Max.... but if you pop your liner (which youll have to do to wire the light) you should see the mounting lugs molded on the roof... I actually installed door switches so mine comes on when I open my doors.... Good luck!!

Has anyone wrapped the bottom half of there Defender Limited with the Mossy Oak wrap? Will it work or is the door texture to porous.

May need to talk to a rapping PRO.... Unfortunately Snoop dog isn't a forum member to my knowledge.... lol!!! I'm sorry... I had to!! I would think it would peel.... but no experience in the matter at all...

  3. You need to search "3 prong remote winch hookup? Where? Go to the 3rd page and almost the end of the thread there is a picture of exactly what I was saying earlier... one of them plugs will/should fit the smaller plug on your wires... Now the fact that two of them are pulled out might create an issue... but maybe they will coincide with the wires you will be plugging into...

    Good luck

  4. Looking back at the picture..... That is a pretty odd break... seems it must have had a crack.... and just rattled itself apart... that being said, it probably hasn't done alot of good for awhile now.... take it out.... weld it up.... (a good weld is stronger than that metal) and keep the hardware with you.... Take it out for a day ride and test it..... drive it around until lunch without the bar.... come in... have lunch and install the bar.... repeat morning run and compare.... make your decision based on that info...

And hey, TAKE IT EASY ON THE EQUIPMENT!!!! IT AIN'T CHEAP!!! LOL......

I’d maybe look into any other changes can am may have done to the rear to omit the sway bar on the newer models. I find it hard to believe they would just get rid of it on the 2021 without any other changes.  Maybe they forgot to install it lmao cause it’s a real possibility apparently. If it were me I’d get a new one but I’m always looking to upgrade something on my defender and no better time then when somethings broken. If your stock I’d think you’ll be ok other the hunt said trails and speeds might not be a good combo.  Nice that it’s the sway bar so you can still use it wile on order though. Wish my luck was like that.

As for the "forgot to install it" comment... Was just a couple weeks ago we had a new owner post pictures of his rig.... AND IT WAS MISSING THE FRONT BUMPER!!! I SHIT YOU NOT!!! So for them to FORGET IT is NOT out of the realm of possibilities!! On the other hand.... Most of us in the jeep world pull our sway bars to let the rig TWIST!! Same for my sleds!! They're really just there to stabilize the rig and keep both feet planted... it will also help with loads..... if you are pretty much bogging it or crawling I would think it will probably be in your favor it is gone.... but if you use it more on road/trails at higher speeds or hauling things around the property.... it may be beneficial to have it replaced...

I guess I would be running through my mind... What/how did it break??? If the wall thickness is anything like my rocksliders it would take much!!! Larger tires... more travel.... can add some serious torque on them bars.... Does it look at all twisted at the break? Maybe the bottom got hit by a sharp piece of rock that flew up and stressed it.... allowing it to twist and break..... any rust/corrosion on the break? Showing prevoius damage before the break?

I guess if it were me.... I would pull it.... fit a sleeve over the break and weld it back together... then cut the other side..... and do the same thing... if I put it back in at all. But I'm more of a road/trail rider that uses my bed to HAUL some pretty good loads... So the sway bar works for me...

    Good luck!!

Don’t  say there is a defender tick hunt I’ll start to cry lol

I’ve been down the hemi tick road also.

I think we ALL have!!! It's like an officer told me a few years back..... (well maybe more than a few...) but anyway.. he said, "there are two types of bike riders.... those that have GONE DOWN, and those that WILL go down.... if you ride a bike long enough, YOU WILL GO DOWN....." Then he wrote me a ticket.... DOH!!

    😉

  7. Well, everyone's perception of the "clunk" is a bit different..... but seems it may be a product of the "viscolok" front diff.... maybe??? (A question for others here) kinda like the Dodge "tick"

I've never really noticed it... but MANY HAVE!!

Secondly.... there are good amount of wirig  below the dash, could something have come loose?

Thirdly.... if you bought an extended warranty you should have documentation in your original paperwork/contract .....

Moral of the story...... LOVE AND LEARN your rig!!! Cuz CanAm could care less now!! Customer service/warranty (work) is pretty lacking!! DEPENDING on your dealer.... Some have had no issues..... but RARE....

  8. Here is what i found quick search...

Just bought a 2020 HD10 XT and dealer said there is no longer a connector for the remote. I just ordered a cheap wireless remote winch controller with two remotes off of Amazon for ~$16 and will wire it into the contractor under the hood.

  9. I'll look around... But that has been a subject previously discussed... maybe not this exact thing but close....

The remote picture is tough to tell... but the plug with the wires out of it.... and the switch itself are two different wires yes? With the switch having a plug that goes into the plug that has the flap on it.... (which is the other end of wire missing those wires in the 3 prong plug) because I think that 3 prong plug will looking for a wire bundle with that same plug (reversed ofcourse)  I would start my tracing from the winch itself.

I think the info on this may be in a question about wireless winch remotes.... but same info you are looking for...

Another reason, I HATE WIRING!!!! Well, when I didn't start it from the beginning.... lol

  10. My question would be, How long has it been like that? Long enough to SPIT AN AXLE?

I do understand your hesitation having spit a front right axle at 1000 miles on my 19 cab. But that was a front axle with added 2" forward A-arms and a 2" lift..... so there was more to the story...

In your situation I'm not so sure there would be a problem with it... the only downside I could see would be trail riding at speed... Crawling and Swampin'? I think it would be beneficial.... again...... IMO!!! DON'T  be sending me a bill saying "you said I could"

    Good luck with that...

  11. Alrighty...  you have a newer rig than I do... so yer wiring under the hood is a bit different.... That being said.... Looks to me (just knowing my wiring) the front lug is going to be ground. The second lug (red crossover) is constant power... Third lug is "accessories on" power... You could check this with a cheap power tester light...

So, depending on how you want your lights powered..... would be how to wire your controller... I have my auxiliary (lol!!! I use them most) lights "constant on" powered.... same with my stereo system...

    Hope that helps

Well we received a ship date of May 10th and not to my surprise we were told back on the 15th that they did not even receive a VIN yet so it probably didn’t ship. Still waiting. Anyone else have a long wait period?

Well??? Inquiring minds want to know???

  13. I have actually added extension flaps on my fronts... Plan was a semi flap for them but couldn't find one at the time... so a minivan rear carpet cover was what I had to work with.... and it has done the job PERFECTLY!! I'm also running a 33"×10.5 so he throws a bit of mud when he's diggin'. They have stayed flexible, not cracked, and were CHEAP!! I had a bit left over that I added a 2"or so flap that hung below bear attached with zip ties.

My plan was to replace them... but they've worked perfect.... and kinda grown on me.... so they stay until they need replaced.....

    Good luck all!!

Edit... since this picture I've also modified my sidebars by adding thicker tubing and widening to the width of the front wheelbase. Which helps keep some of the spray below the doors...
