Just got a 2021 Defender  HD8 and I have experienced a howling noise on hot days (33 degree Celsius/ 92 fahrenheit). I listened to the cooling fan up front but it was not the source of noise. The dash temperature gauge never showed temperatures above (91-92 degrees) in fact was mostly in the mid to high 80's Celsius. I'm wondering what this noise could be? a secondary cooling fan for the CVT maybe?

I had a similar noise. I let the air out if the gas tank and it went away. But would eventually come back.

Seems as if you have the tank vent issues others have had... There are a couple things to try. I've not had the issue, but others have. There are a couple threads here that address the issue. Next time it happens, loosen your gas cap and see if it stops...

Good luck

Yep, sounds like venting noise from the gas tank/cap on warm days.  Gets worse when hot.
