  1. Issue we have is the hinge in the middle of the windshield. Wife is short and would be directly in her line of sight. It's hard finding one that meets our needs. The one Can Am has flips up but the trails are brutal and I'm afraid the rough trails would make it bounce too much and the branches may rip it off. My previous bike was a Polaris General and that windshield flipped down onto the hood. Hinge was low so completely out of the way. Window opening was shorter in height and the hood was longer so it sat nicely on the hood when folded down. This Defender has a much taller window opening and a VERY short hood so the Polaris type of windshield wouldn't work on this beast. Problem with the General was, there was ALWAYS something broken on the suspension... axles, shocks, bearings. Great engine but crap suspension. Was tired of driving it like an old man and always fixing something. Hoping this one is stronger. I really drive it carefully. Will keep looking for a windshield that works. Thanks for the help!
  2. I'm looking to get a windshield for my XMR. I ride in central Florida so it's hot most of the time but can get cold in the winter months (NOT cold like you northerners get). My bigger problem is it rains, HARD, at a moment's notice so I need a windshield that can close quickly but is open most of the time for the much needed breeze. I have certain requirements: Must be on the bike at all times. When out on the trails, I have no place to store it. Must me able to open and close at a moment's notice. Rain comes quickly Any thoughts/recommendations? My wife found this one?: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CO0FAZI/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_jUAJCbPJQCS00
  3. Had 1/2 doors as part of the purchase deal. Had the net doors when we bought it last Saturday, March 9, 2019. They ordered for us at that time and said that had no idea when they'd come in. Got a call on the 13th said doors are on. We'll be bring back on the 22nd to have them installed. We'll see how that works out.
  4. Went to Amazon Prime and it says these do the fit my XMR. I'm not near my bike so I can't measure the roll bar diameter to verify they fit. I'll keep looking.
  5. Me too. I have lots of mud where we ride and haven't yet felt the wrath of the XMR tires.
  6. Perfect. Thanks for your help. Now to accessories it. I'm looking for: Double lighted whips/flags. (Already found the Qlink holders for the bed) Possibly additional lighting...in cab, exterior. Side mirrors. Rear view mirror won't work cause of the snorkels. Windshield. Something I can flip up/down quickly in the rain. Doors are on the way Some kind of sound system...not too crazy Possibly extended fender flares. LOTS of mud around me. Maybe some additional storage suggestions.
  7. I just joined you Defender family and couldn't be happier. Traded a 16 Polaris General that was a lemon. Broke every part of the suspension, fox shocks and all. Understand, I drive it like an old man... seriously. Always the last driver in the line when we all go riding...making sure everyone is safe. Seriously dissatisfied with the General. Hoping this one holds up better. One question... where is the battery?
