Hi all

New member here. Anyone know how tall the door needs to be to put a 2021 defender limited in the trailer from a normal street? I don’t want to be looking for hills to get it in. Thanks

I believe my door is 7ft high and the inside of the trailer is 80". I would recommend a wider trailer as I am scared to put doors on the machine because I won't be able to get out. Remember the height of the machine is 80" so but abit larger incase you wanna lift it or put on a light bar.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will go with a Aluma 16 foot with a 84 inch opening. Not thrilled with spending 11 l but it is what it is

WELCOME to the forum!!! As for the door height??? While a STOCK defender sits around 80". Once you start adding tires taller than 29" and heaven forbid a lift..... a 7' door will be tight..... also, something to keep in mind.... Most doors with a cable system have the spring BELOW the door height. I bought a hauler with an 8' door...... sure it slides right through the door..... but the bunk beds hang below that and rub my rack...

Keep this in mind... You can ALWAYS get a smaller rig through a 8' door.... but you can MEVER  get a bigger rig through a 7'er..... just sayin'

I have S3 Springs on a 2019 Max Cab XT with 30" tires and my machine is at 78" tall.

He's still tight in there!! While i strap him down with wheel straps.... I still need to compress the suspension some or he hits the beds above. Only when his rack is on.....

The spec sheet says the 2021 limited is 79” high. Not sure how I could make that lower. Just found out a friend of mine is building toy haulers and ice fish house now.  Saw one today. Looked great. Might have one custom built

That number is probably taken with the shocks at mid spring adjustment. You could probably make it lower..... Not sure about you.... But i didn't buy a Defender to turn it into a Chica low rider with dingle balls, diamond tucked upholstery, and a chain link steering wheel.... lol... I like yer idea of having it custom made to fit yer beast... I happen to be a CUSTOM kind of guy!!! Just make sure you give yourself some room to GROW!!!
