Trick to installing switch in dash?

Sorry for such a basic question but I searched and didn't find anything.

Installing a Rough Country power windshield and for the life of me I can't seem to get the switch into the dash...

I popped the dash panel out, removed the cover for an open slot but the switch doesn't seem to want to pop in the hole. 

Was in the low to mid 40's today so not terribly cold but I know plastic acts wierd sometimes in the cold.

did you check hole size?

Yes appears to be correct just for whatever reason won't go in far enough to start then snap in.
