First off let me start with welcome to the forum!!! Nice ride! You'll find lots of info and some pretty good people here on the forum!! If it can be done to a defender, someone here has most likely done it... Or BROKE IT... LOL...

Enjoy the forum and be safe!!!

Thank you Joe and Bear!  Seems to be a great group helping each other. My wife and I take the Defender on rides around our property every morning and evening and love it.  I'm planning on a solo run to the center of the national forest and camp for a night or two.  Just waiting to put some hours on machine to make sure it stays reliable  as help is hard to come by and takes along time in the middle of the Ottawa National Forest/Porcupine Mountains.  Not to mention I'm and old guy!

Great mountain pic, and cool looking Defender!

I need to add side lights like you have to illuminate the woods and see game at night.  I was going to mount on top but looks like you mounted just above door?  Can you send a close-up of your mounting?  Thanks!

I have fender flares coming, they were on back order, it looks like they do work with a rock guard.  Is you rock guard factory or aftermarket?  I like the step.

Thank you

First off, my side lights mount in th same holes as my upper door skin mounts.. (factory position) as for the sliders...... OEM but HEAVILY MODIFIED... Cut apart to widen to match up with the 32x10's on 5+3 rims... and then cut so I could slide a THICK WALL pipe inside the metal conduit they used for the rails...

Hope these pics help....

I also has to add flare extensions for the larger tires... (you can kinda see them in the pics) I used a rear seat carpet cover for a mini van... (all I could find where I was) and it seems to work, and has grown on me... I was shooting for a semitrailer flap to modify for my extension.

Here is a better shot of the flap... and original location of rail. The rail now comes out to the width of the front tires which allows the snow to drop out and not jamb up under the door.
