My dealer says his personal Defender also does it and he knows some others that do it too, but not all.  He said it’s some type of harmonic in the roll bar down to the frame.  We are gonna try a couple of things when I take it in for some accessories to be added.  Will advise.

Sorry I haven't been active on this post but my wife's health got so bad I sold my 2020 XT-P she went down hill a LOT faster than I expected and lost her on July 12th. I'm wanting to buy another Defendef now maybe the XMR version but hesitant because of this noise problem. I can guarantee on mine it was not a harmonic issue. MI e had to be at normal operating temp before it would start and would take a mile or two. It was something to do with the differenials I believe and the oil had to get warm/hot before it would start.

Did you ever find out what was causing g the rattling?  I have a 2020 lonestar and it's doing the exact same thing.  Nothing is lose in the fro t suspension but definitely gets a harmonic rattle around 13 mph.  Thanks for any input.

No sir the dealer had it 2 weeks and couldn't find out what's causing it. They opened up a discussion with Can Am in case something happens after warranty.

  3. I purchased a 2020 HD10 XT-P brand new with OEM tip out automotive glass front windshield and it come stock with roof, rock sliders, winch and bolstered seat for less than $19k. I had previously purchased a brand new 6 x 12 trailer made from round pipe instead of angle iron and super nice removable rear ramp for $1100.00. Don't pay that much for a used machine.

  4. I have had Polycarbonate windshield on previous SxS including a rear window one now on my 2020 HD10 XT-P. All will scratch easily no matter how careful you are. I popped for the OEM Automotive glass tip out front windshield and it was the best investment I ever made.

I also got a code that says to lean fuel..probably should have mentioned that... so not enough fuel mixing with air...fuel pump bad? map sensor?

Friend has a HD10 Max. Same exact symptoms as yours. Replaced fuel pump and fixed it!

I have this same soundbar and I used the L brackets to mount it to the front crossmember.   There is a hole in the role cage on the drivers side wear you can run your wire down.   At the bottom of the roll cage wear the 2 bolts are is the other hole wear it will come out.  I removed one of the bolts when I pulled the wire to make it easier and then reinstalled once I finished.

Thank you sir. So you used the Brackets that came with the Soundbar?  Did you have to drill holes in the front cross member and if so did you use sheet medal screws or drill through and use long bolt with nut and washers to secure?

I have a project I am working and maybe some of you can help me out.  I have a 2020 Defender X Mossy Oak edition.  It is somewhere between an XT, XT-P and X-mr.  It has the regular 2020 XT speedometer (4.7") screen but the winch, skid plates, rock rails and  stiffer shocks and springs of the X-mr .  I want to either install the eco/normal/work switch or replace the cluster with the X-mr speedo and key pad.  All the wiring is there for the keypad and I assume the speedo is plug and play.  before I go this route, there is an extra plug under the dash that I assume would be used for the eco/normal/work switch but the pin outs are different then the switch I bought.  So...is the 2020 pin outs different than previous years for this switch.  Can someone who has a 2019 or older with the eco/normal/work switch take a picture of the wire harness and post it here?

So does your X Model not have the Soft Touch Mode Switch for Work Mode, ECO Off ECO On?

You don’t have to actually remove the whole roof. You just remove the 3 bolts on forward side of roof and lift it to get the bolts for speaker brackets installed. You mount the speaker then tighten all the hardware that goes through the cage. Remove the speaker and reinstall the roof bolts then reinstall speaker again.

Is there a reason why you don't remove the speakers to begin with and mount the empty bracket first then put the speakers back in? Also, I believe you have the OEM auto glass windshield like I have. Any issues with it during install?

Has anyone had any issues getting their machine to shift into park. Shifts out of park just fine, shifts through the gears fine. It seems a little “notchy” when I come out of a gear and put it into park. Almost have to roll it a little to get it to engage. Is this a simple adjustment on the shift cable? Just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue. I should note, this is when I’m parking in the garage on a flat surface, or anywhere for that matter. Happens 3 out of 4 times I would say. Any help is appreciated!

I have the same issue with my 2020 XT-P. I also use the rolling technique to get mine in Park.

  10. So despite the stay at home when possible I decided to take my XT-P to my dealer and drop it off so they could figure out what the weird noise is and fix it. Well wouldn't you know, I drove it around the neighborhood and it didn't make a sound. LOL. Dealer said just drive and we have a year warranty so that's what I'm going to do. With only 27 miles it could possibly be the clutch or belt and has to be hot to make the noise. Who knows.

Right on Okie!!! Looks good!! I guess I'm pretty spoiled. But I really like my full cab. I mean heck, I added foam in cracks to get rid of dust and dirt. 😕 You guys have window nets.... It's okay guys, CALL ME A WUSS!!! LOL

    LOOKING GOOD!!!

Thank you sir and I started to go with the cab model but my wife said we had a car and truck with AC and Heat so that was that. LOL.

It’s the annual Texas OHV Decal. It’s required in some state recreational parks if you ride there. You can get it on the Texas Park and wildlife website.

    Okay. Thanks!

Did you have any clearance issues with your bed and seal when dumping? I have clearance issues where the bed gap seal hits the seal on window when using the dump bed.

I'm going to have to say no Rudy. I have never even looked but had bed up and down several times today looking for a pesky rattle somewhere and didn't hear or feel any rubbing on the seal.

I installed the same rear poly windshield. Made the cab even quieter and keeps dust out.

Yes sir that's exactly what I have and love it. Need doors next. My Defender is the HD10 XT-P but not the Max version so I only need two doors. My ride has the exact same Rock Sliders.

I second the WELCOME!!! I have a '19 HD10 full cab and have had no whistling... While mine did seem a little rough in the lower power range, I never heard any grinding. I bought mine in late Oct. and have over 1000 miles/150 hours on him

Thankfully the sound is definitely not a grinding sound. It's just a metal to metal vibration sound like a baffle is loose in the muffler. I'll keep you posted when I get it figured out.
