Thanks ROK, are you talking the center rear view mirror or exterior side rear view mirrors? Im looking for exterior mirrors that fit on the outside of both driver and passenger sides.

Oh sorry I read that wrong then yes I’m talking about the middle rear view mirror. Seizmik are great I don’t have them personally but my buddies do and they love them a little pricey but they will replace them if you destroy them somehow!

In Ontario Canada I had a real hard time insuring my hd10. Only one company would touch it and it ain’t cheap. Being a 1000 seemed to be some of the prob. I think I pay more for this defender insurance then my Ram. And that’s not a lol kinda statement.

Wow that’s crazy I had no issues insuring mine and it was relatively cheap

Farms, hunting or riding property?  Flexibility might save a lot of dollars.  Look at trails end realty's web site,  Two Mile road, Port Allegany, Pa. There's 40 acres in the 900 something block for sale.  Driveway is a monster, good use for the Defender.  Good hunting but no flat ground.  Other places for sale, look online.   The Amish came in a couple years ago, farm land is tough to buy reasonably now.

Looking for farms for horses so flat ground would be needed. I’ll look into it though thanks for the info on it

Thanks Roc23, appreciated.   Got an email from my insurance agent moments ago letting me know theft/liability or any other kind of insurance is not available for my Defender.

To top it all off the Gorilla Locking Wheel Nuts will not fit the defender rims as no room for the lock and the socket to install.

Glad to hear a couple of you are concerned about the security of their vehicle from theft.   I guess the old saying about concern not being activated until the horse has left the barn has a ring of truth to it.

Could always put a tracker in the air box? Saying is true!

  5. Ok I know I remember reading at some point about belts and which ones to get. Buuuut I don’t remember where it was on here and or the belt brands. What belts is everyone running or have for a secondary?! Sorry if there was a thread bout this already

Is it a good idea to have theft and liability insurance?    Years ago had my Rhino stolen from my garage which makes me seek your experiences in regard to theft and liability

I have both even though homeowners would cover it since it’s stored inside a garage. I’m double covered this way and if it would happen to get stolen somehow someway while we were out riding.

Thank you for your input Stapleton!

I brought the 2019 DSP/HD10 home last night.

After warming up my wife got in and we did a short half throttle blast up the drive way which was followed by a cloud of blue oil smoke. It went away so I’m thinking break in oil

I’m not sure if this is normal for a new, right out of the box HD10? Any thoughts?

They say not to baby the machine and drive it regular from the get go. We did the same thing when we got home with ours and only thing we noticed was a smell of the unit breaking in so not sure about the smoke maybe just extra that needed burned off. If it persists I’d take it back in.

When I got my Defender, it was loaded with 30psi in the stock Big Horn 2.0 tires.  After some research I dropped all four tires down to 18psi and it rides so much better.

What pressure is everyone else running?

I’m running 20 in mine same set up think could be lower though as it seems to spin a lot going up hill climbs.

The battery in the 2019 Defender XT Cab is 30 amp vs other models that come with the 20 amp battery. I do not plan on installing a larger battery as some have done but I have been carrying a lithium boost kit since 2013 when my 1000 Outlander XT came as electric start only.

I recommend a boost pack that is 16,000 mah or larger, Costco in Canada carries a boostme pack at 18,000 mah that is on sale until June 2nd. So far I have not had to use this pack for boosting my quad or sled but it comes in handy for lawn mower batteries, electric start light plant etc. and can even boost a vehicle if necessary. I will have 3 boost packs: one for the sled, one for the sxs and one for my pontoon boat.

We did have to boost a sxs that broke through the ice last fall and got stuck in the muskeg, he killed the battery and couldn't start the sxs. Most boost packs have multiple connectors so that you can recharge your phone or use the light in an emergency; if your vehicle dies at night. If you buy one make sure you read the instructions as the boost process is not as intuitive as simply attaching the cables and you need to give them a recharge every 3-6 months.

I carry a boost pack also it jumps my Yukon so I know it’ll jump my defender xt
