  1. Okay, after further inspection and yes with the putty knife at least on the passenger side, I was able to get the tabs to pop out. I hope this thread will help others as I have been trying to figure this out for over a week.🙂

Now I can run my front LED light bar via the unused wires under the front hood to the same colored bundled wires located next to the power indicated in the photo.. Thanks for all the input, it's really appreciated!

  2. After some more investigation I've found the four wires up front check continuity with the matching wire colors under the dash. Assuming they are not also connected to something else, they should be able to be used for accessories up front. Will also look for the matching wires somewhere in the back for possible back end accessory coonections.

  3. I bought an after market light bar and wiring harness to install in my 2021 Defender limited. I checked with a dealer service tech and they gave me suggestion for access to inside the cab for installing the harness but turns out the access he described wasn't there. Since the 2021 was improved for air tightness of the Limited, it almost seems they would have allowed for access without having air gaps or having to punch holes in the cab. The pictures in the instructions were of no use as they really don't show enough especially for someone that's new and not familiar with the Defender. Thry also refer to shop manuals in some instances. However, I did notice 4 wire leads under the hood and a bundle of leads inside the cab under and near the center of dash that appear to not be connected to anything. Wondered if the Can Am folks had the forethought to have wiring available for later installation of accessories without having to jeopardize the integrity of the cab? If anyone knows how the access to inside the cab is accomplished or whether the wires I mentioned are for after purchase accessories installation, I would really appreciate the help.

I've attached photos of the wires I mentioned. Tge first is under hood and the second is left of center under the dash and below the shifter area.

I have a 2020 HD10 cab with the same front panel set up as you. I installed this and it works great. I have it powered all of the time since there is not an keyed accessories wire in that front  box area. I can send you a picture. It's pretty simple, just hook it up to the 3 wire relay on the left side. Cords no more...

I would appreciate a picture as well. The instructions I looked at show two alternatives...one connecting directly and the other showed somehow connecting to the group if wires bundled together just right of center.

  5. Hi,

I'm new to the Can Am experienced and just bought a 2021 Defender Limted. Adding accessories and one of those is the winch remote connector cable that installs under the front hood. Ive got everything in but cannot seem to figure which wires connect the existing wires indicated in the instructions. The remote cable is a 3 wire set up with red,, green and black wires. There are 4 existing connectors that are red, green, black and there's  also a 4th all white wire. i tried connecting the remote cable to the corresponding colors of the existing connectors but not getting any response from the winch. Anyone know if that's the correct wiring or what the issue could be? The instructions indicate connecting to the existing 4 wire location.
