The switch can be fixed although it is temporary.. you take it apart, and clean the black crud that builds on the contact points.. the switch works... and then after so many ups and downs.. the switch doesn't work. Bad part.. very frustrating.. looking for a long lasting replacement part... I'd be keen to hear from anyone who has found a replacement switch
