  1. Pro fit squeeze clamps if ur wanting to put 50 inch light bar on the windsheild with no drilling
  2. The front end growl when turning is supposedly an issue can am is aware of ... my cousins 2018 hd 10 had that growl when turning from the front end dealer took it in and checked it his problem was the tolerances in the diff were to tight and were grinding there selves away ... it was warranty replaced and now the new diff is growling just the same ... can am told our dealer in the beginning of the year they were supposed to have a differential fix for this possibly a warranty replaceable/ recall for a new redesigned front diff and they had july as a release date but then corona happened and that hurt everything including the diff fix .... our dealer is talking with them again right now to hopefully get complete answers on what there goin to do with this update since his warranty is up but every thing is back dated and documented ... so it's a waiting game still and hopefully have some good news soon
  3. #1 - No caps on the base model they come from factory exposed #2 - u can add it and the lower dash comes in handy but for as little as its actually used I wouldnt install it cause it's way easier to install accessories and there wiring with out the lower dash in .... get the removable glove box for the passenger side dash ull use that alot ... #3 - there is no cover lid for the base model driver cubby that I know of ... but after driving my cousins xt with the covered lid ... i actually enjoy mine being an open cubby for quick grabbing what ever u throw in there ... plus with a windshield that lid on the xt just dosent seem to open up as much as some one would like
  4. The blue looks awesome definitely one of the best colors they have had for the defenders to date ... I'm also in Missouri... central Missouri
  5. 4500 miles with every thing u can throw at a windshield... and my super atv hard coated poly carbonate windshield is still 99% the same great shape as new the only scratch it has is my fault because of the windshield wipers I installed had a sharp lil rock in a clump of mud i wiped off and it got me for a small hardly noticable scratch ... it was $325 when I bought it a year and a half ago ... my cousin bought glass tilt out for his defender and it cracked just like every car windshield I've ever owned ... the thought of having to buy another glass windshield after dropping $1250 is crazy ... it would take an army tank to fuck up hard coated polycarbonate for any abuse we put these bikes threw ... my other cousins glass windshield also shattered (from his head but that's another story) ... only thing I would change is more air flow but the updated there windshields and they do have more air flow ..... the flip up would be nice from them ... but I wanted a light bar up top and wanted it below roof height for clearance on tight woods trailers here in Missouri and the flip out makes it to were u have to put the bar on the roof
  6. Yes the 6x6 is a 2020 3 seater with an extra frame box bolted to the existing frame (original hitch is even still located in between to two frames) ..... any 2 door defender 2020 doors will fit and most likely 2016-2019 will fit as well but dont quote me exactly with the later years... but 2020 doors will bolt right on 👌
  7. I think the easiest way for us to do this is adding an extended bracket in the floor where the buckle post bolts to the floor ... I think I've seen them on ebay ext... if I find it I'll post it... but wouldnt take much to build small bracket paint and bolt in
  8. Yes I ran the wires threw the floor board under the panels... plus wire loomed them in ... the radiator lines run in there also there is a lil room between the two but the wire loom is just a lil extra precaution against the wires being down in the hot box
  9. Completely new exhaust system ...and I belive different heads that's where the 10 hp comes from and a slight change in tune
  10. Mine smoked from the oils on the motor which appeared to look like smoke when new but it did puff one ot 2 small smoke clouds on the first day I had it ... I'm talkin first 0.8 miles when I gave it a decent stab... it's a brand new motor just settling its self in now it has 3033 miles and hasn't dont that once since the first day I drove it
  11. If you want a loud... vibrate you to death at idle ride with not enough power for around ur ranch ... buy the yamaha viking ... If u want a quite smooth excellent ride with all the power u could need stick with ur thoughts on the hd10 ... u can't go wrong ... I have an hd10 max and it still impresses me every day and it has 2500 miles with not a problem ... one of my buddies has a viking 6 and beats his self up everytime he rides with us with the anticipation of trading his in next year on a defender
  12. If ur not lookin to stay in a stick budget ... I would suggest the 1000cc ... it's the only option of the 3 engine sizes that can never leave u saying or thinking "I wish I woulda bought the bigger motor" ... ha ha just saying I couldn't be happier with my hd10 ... and also u could look at it like this the 500, 800, and 1000 can all go the same places and do the same work generally speaking but the 500 and 800 are gonna be working way harder the do the same thing ... old saying goes "no replacement for displacement "
  13. 50 or 52 inch will span the entire width of windshield if thats the answer ur lookin for
  14. I second Dan's statement pics please .... cause in thinkin about a battle armor 2 inch lift possibly small spacers to track back out to stock or just over and 28s cause I dont want to get into clutching or at least not yet lol
  15. I do have to say that quite a bit of my 2200 miles on mine is gravel road riding and pavement and the big horns still look great it's crazy how well there holding up but the fronts are finally getting some waves in them and they do vibrate the bike at slower speeds on asphalt
  16. Bought my 2018 hd10 max last October... just rolled 2200 miles and nock on wood worst issue was losing a center cap which my dealer gave me for free anyways ... great machine I read u asking questions about a few small issues no worries... I haven't noticed a rattle noise/vibration from the front of mine but I'm sure its minor and a silly problem ... once u figure that out for ur self ull be 7th heaven with that bike ... a day of riding it hadn't passed that it dosent impress me or everyone around me
  17. Got my mictunning rocklights installed and lit I personally think there awesome last night we drove towards the river in treloar Missouri to check out the flood waters by out local boat ramp ... got a couple cool pics of the rock lights and bazooka party tube lit up in the flood waters
  18. My cousin has Sedona rockabillys on his ranger 900xp crew and absolutely loves them for rockier terrain I cant vouch for them on solid rock like u may have but we have alot of heavy rocked valley hills and solid rock waterfall systems we climb up here in Missouri and those tires perform excellent they just not up to par for much mud some but not alot ... hes had them for a couple years with alot of weight miles and more abuse than 95% of machines get ha ha and hes never had one flat
  19. Look at this on eBay https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F162814498066
  20. If u havent bought it yet a 50 or 52" will have more bracket options for just above the windsheild ... I couldn't get my self to drill into my roll bar for a pop rivet bracket... so I did some looking around and found EMP squeeze light bar brackets for a polaris profit cage .. I had a hunch that it would work on the defenders so i drove mine to my cousins who has a ranger xp900 crew inspected both cages side buy side and ordered them off ebay for about 55 bucks it works awesome if I want to take it off I can and never have to worry about holes in the 500 dollar roof or cage ! It just squeezes the roll cage and utilizes the light bar brackets that come with ur light and if u have a windshield it slides right down next to it ... I mounted mine as high as I could get it in the windshield indention of the defender pro fit cage and it works awesome rock solid for sure
  21. Pretty sure there geared and clutched with lower ratios to accommodate the 30s and to have the torque for the deep stuff .... I do believe there top speed is also lower because of it
  22. DefenderXMR is right with the forward arms itll clear 30s and a few brands are priced pretty good ... if u want to go to 30s its definitely the best route ... but if cheapest route is what ur looking for 28s bone stock is great... and ur not adding much weight per tire and will work perfect with stock clutching.. 30s puts u in an area of possibly needing clutching some get away with it but others dont like the touch of power loss from the added tire weight and rotation and seek clutching to get the bikes stock or touch over stock power back
  23. Better late than never to introduce my self I'm Stapleton ... I live in central Missouri and honestly made the best purchase of my life October 2018 on my defender hd10 max and in just over 5 months and 1300 miles I'm racing to the mail box every month to pay the payment with a huge smile on my face ... I agree with modified this is a great forum for the defender with a great group of people that are checking there phones every night just waiting to help , answer tech questions or just chit chat about cool mods or fun days on there defenders ...
  24. U can remove the tilt cubby on the left side ... just squeeze the bottom posts that allow it to tilt and it pops out and then u have access up to ur left side switch panel and as for center switch panel it's open underneath it and u can access it quite easily... flip ur center and passenger seats up and lay on floor board and ull be looking right up at it
  25. Funny to hear u say that... cause i have actually been thoroughly impressed with them ... only down fall is 6 ply ... but i have 1300 miles on mine and they are still over 80% tread easy ... we had the snowiest winter in Missouri we had in years with one being 17 inches around our county and couldn't believe how well they did and u know the sloppy mud was bound to come once the snow melted and the big horns just couldn't be stopped ... but when ready to replace I'm goin to look into the ITP blackwater evolutions in 28s because there similar to the bighorns in that there a non directional and more versatile for the rocks ,mud ,snow and road riding we do but there 8 plys to give me a little better peace of mind when in the creeks around here to not slice a tire open .... big plus with the itp's is u can get them in our defender factory widths 28" tall to use on our stock wheels ... but I may buy 28x10x14s all they way around with new 14x7 wheels ( have to run 1.5" or 2" spacer in rear to allow tires to track the same ) the benefits of that route is the ability to rotate ur tires for longer tire life ......... And in my opinion as long as ur not wanting clearance for some serious mud riding ... tightening ur shocks up for that taller stance and 1" bigger than stock tires is the way to go ... keep low center of gravity for ur trails and cornering plus ur defenders axles , joints and drivetrain will thank u and keep running flawlessly for miles and miles
