  1. Yep, I think you are right, my mistake.
  2. If you have a claim, or more, for it under warranty when the warranty runs out Can Am may be required to continue to fix it under your states "Lemon Law". I know if the same thing fails three times in my state, I am golden. Can Am can fix it or give me a brand new unit.
  3. I think you might be missing the point. The problem is your usage of power. With the air running, the engine fan runs continuously, as does the internal fan blowing cold air. Your power steering is using power. You have your headlights on then comes the killer, those lightbars. How many watts are your lightbars. Cheap ones are really inefficient. My guess is you could run one but three is waaaay to much. You are asking your UTV to power things like a car does. It is only a 1000cc motor (actually a little less). You should add a second battery and wire your light bars directly to the second battery, independent of the busbar. i know it is not the answer you want, but otherwise run a generator in the bed and power the lightbars with it.
  4. I really like the seismic pursuit mirrors adapted to work. I also just got an 15,000 lumen Rigid 10" lightbar for the front bumper. I too have a 2020 max limited and cannot put a light bar on top the roof if I still want to get it in my enclosed trailer. The high output Rigid light is comparable to a much larger light bar. Another consideration is that using a light bar on the roof leads to blinding conditions in blowing snow or sand. With the light mounted lower it doesn't impede your visibility up close to the windshield.
  5. Buy one if you can locate one. If you are holding out for better pricing you may be disappointed. Manufacturers don't need to offer incentives on models that they are selling out of.
  6. If you mainly run gravel then the extra speed of the HD10 would come in handy. As I understand the HD8's top out around 55 mph. HD10 runs around 66 mph.
  7. Congrats, I have a Max Limited as well. Message me if you have questions.
  8. I went with the Wyco unit as it had an actual turn signal arm that mounts to the steering column. It also didn't have a "module" that would interfere with the storage under the drivers or middle seat. The Wyco unit also talks to my turn signal indicators in my 2020 limited dash so I know when they are on and I forgot to turn them off. The Wyco unit utilizes the rear tail lights as turn signals and gives you 3 blinkers on each side up front. I believe the Wyco unit might not be as plug and play as other manufacturers but it is the intuitive unit to use as it is just like your cars turn signal except you need to cancel after the turn. It also has a horn button on the end of the turn signal arm that is easy to use without having to reach to the dash to turn or run the horn. Best unit out so far.
  9. Did you have to put on spacers to keep the rims from rubbing the super atv arms?

    1. A hunt 2 remember

Nope... not sure why they wouldn't have. The rims/tires fit PERFECTLY.... Just rubbed a bit with stock A-arms... the 2" forward arms took care of the issue PERFECTLY!!

We are talking aftermarket wheels yeah? I went with 5+3 all the was around... Not sure which offset you're thinking about. But the 5+3 gives me the option of having a spare for any corner. I bought 5 just for that reason. Hope this helps.

  10. 2000 miles without any clutch or belt problems.
  11. No problems with clutch or power. None of these non turbo units sets the world on fire with power. Mine still pulls 66 mph gps with the 32's. I am sure it accelerates a little slower, but these are the size tires my machine needs. The clutch doesn't slip either.
  12. Mine crapped out like yours with the flashing triangle today. Off to the shop till Thanksgiving I fear.
  13. Well, after having it in for 2 months for the freon leaking out of it, my 2020 limited now has the flashing triangle of death on the climate display and no more working air conditioning. Hopefully Can Am will have the part necessary, and hopefully it will not be the same as the part that is failing. Iowa has a lemon law and this is strike 2 on the air conditioning. One more and Can Am can have this unit back.
  14. It wouldn't bother me unless you thought it would go faster? Is it an HD8? If it is, that is probably the correct top speed. Otherwise, what are you worried about? Have you ever seen a salesman test drive with a customer. It was probably driven kinder at the racetrack than 30 miles at a dealership.

The passenger side of the motor is different on the limiteds, it would require an awful lot to make it work, including reprogramming of the ECU to run continuous when the A/C is on. It would be much cheaper to make an XMR out of a limited than the other way around.
  16. you can buy a bypass jumper for only a couple dollars on the internet if you don't want to wear the seatbelt around the acreage but want full power and speed.
  17. UPDATE: It has been over 550 miles since I got my defender back with working air. The air has been run for all 550 miles without any problems. I did add the 12 volt powered fan, suction cupped to the front window for additional breeze and it has worked very well. I think that this is really gonna work well and I would recommend the Defender Max Limited to anyone considering getting one.
  18. My 2020 Defender Max Limited had a lot of wobble in my steering wheel when I switched to 32" Rockabillys on new beadlock rims. It was an annoyance but I thought it just goes with the territory of having bigger, more aggressive wheels. I was wrong. I checked the alignment by myself and found it to be almost 1/4" toe out. A half of dozen adjustments later and it runs true and eliminated much of the wobble but not all. Lastly I balanced the Rockabillys with some taking almost a pound of weights. But now it drives straight down the road with less vibration than the factory big horns. As most of my miles are road miles, it makes it much more pleasant to drive. Now it drives like a car and cruises smooth all the way up to 70 mph. (downhill, only 66 on the flats, GPS confirmed). On another note, as the shift out on the CVT reaches max at around 45 mph, the larger tires makes a huge difference on rpms at all speeds near shift out and above. It is much quieter at high speed with the the 32" rockabillys than the stock bighorns due in part to much lower rpms to achieve the same speeds vs stock tires. I hope this helps others in finding the true potential of this UTV limo.
  19. UPDATE: I have put on 250 miles with my new voltage regulator and it is holding up. I run the air wide open every day and also a 12 volt fan as supplemental. This new voltage regulator runs at 13.8 to 13.9 volts where my old one ran at 14.4 volts. Can Am states that this is fine when I had my dealer question them about the difference. So far, So good.
  20. Now that I have mine back after 2 months in the shop, the air works and an added benefit is the fan stays on continuous which keeps the motor below 187 even when its 94 F and high humidity.
  21. Well I finally got my defender back. It was leaking on its connection to the compressor. The air works but nobody would say it is cold, just cool. We have run it several hours since getting it back and it has held up. It has been 94 degrees with near 60% humidity and I can drive the defender and not sweat. I don't think it is as comfortable in the back seats but for now it will do. I recommend everyone clean their in cab filters to max out the airflow. I also checked and when on max cool, no air is being pulled from the outside intake as I was going to close mine off but that was not needed. I did close off my the 2 foot vents to boost output to the vents blowing at my face. I do think I will add a 12 volt powered fan to the dash to move more air at me. I hate the heat and can now ride and not get too hot.
  22. Sorry I can't help on this issue. I haven't had any problems with my axles, but mine machine has been broken down and in the shop for the last 2 months.
  23. Well, my defender max limited was in the shop for the failing voltage regulator, and after being backordered, it was fixed today. I called to see if the defender was ready and I was told that the air conditioning is not working now. The compressor kicks on and then immediately shuts off and does not kick on again. The air conditioning did work 2 months ago when the voltage regulator went out. I am not sure if one problem led or created the other. All I know is that the defender has to be sent to an auto dealership to have the Freon changed out to see it that does anything. I love the defender but my memory of it is fading as I haven't seen it in quite awhile. Let me know if any other limited owners have a similar problem. I will post what the problem was when they finally figure it out.
  24. Unfortunately my 2020 Defender Max Limited is out of service. It has been down for the last month and likely to be for another couple weeks. Apparently the voltage regulator gave out, which ruined the battery. The replacement battery came damaged so it took another 10 days to get another from BRP. After that we finally had to take it in and found out that the voltage regulator went bad. This is where it gets really sad. It is backordered and when it finally makes it to the Quebec warehouse it will likely be another 2 1/2 weeks to get to my dealer. The dealer I talked to said if my SxS was a Polaris Ranger he would have almost guaranteed the problem would be the voltage regulator. Apparently for some reason this component is a weak link in both manufacturers machines. To be clear, I have no big electrical draw items on the machine, nor have never winched. I hope that this does not become a problem component but the fact that it is backordered speaks volumes about the demand for this component. My dealer found another American dealer that showed that it had the part but they would not give it up, apparently they have gone through this before. If mine goes out again under warranty, I guess I will I will have to carry a spare with me so I feel I can go on trips with the defender. Hopefully the failure on my machine was a fluke but I really doubt it. I was curious if others had their voltage regulator go out. Mine made it 5 months and 600 miles, not a very good showing.
  25. I haven't got to run my air yet, mine has been down for the last two weeks with a bad battery, not sure what happened with it.
