  1. yes its a crap design. after paying 25k for a rig id expect better. i have added fender flares and then a solid back glass trying to prevent dust in the cab. next i tried removing the lower gasket on the front window and pushing the window outwards. i took the front glass out totally and that solved the dust but then it was like the 6 flags log ride going thru water. here is my fix to dust in my can-am defender hd10 xt with the stock roof. loosen the front of the plastic roof from the metal framing it attaches to. put 1" spacers on either side of all the bolts. i used 1"x wood blocks as a test. tighten the loosened bolts sandwiching the blocks in between the plastic roof and metal frame. no more dust and you can still run a full windshield. the only other thing that will fix it is side vents / wing deflectors.
  2. i did its a nilight bar i think 20" iirc
  3. i put 1 horn on either side under the fender in the void space behind the headlights
  4. the can on the left side with a pipe clamp around it and clear hose is a horn motor.
  5. nilight light bar i ran the led power to the constant hot under the hood to the relay, but the toggle switch throwing the relay is via dash keyed power sent to the relay using one of the provided stock accessory wires i had no idea where to mount anything so i cut a piece of pipe strap and fashioned me a spot to mount 3 relays - 2 are shown installed here.
  6. i just pulled my coated windshield off..no more dust. but its a crap solution. i added fender flares and a back window and neither helped. next im going to try a vented windshield or pop holes into this stock one...
  7. these didnt change the cabin air pressures enough to prevent dust swirl as i had hoped, but it for sure made a difference on rocks and mud that the tires throw. and i cant say enough good things about the support from mud busters. they want to make sure you are happy with their product.
  8. the rear fender flares and the bed flares overlap. note the bed flare on top of the rear fender flare when the bed is down. you have to drill several holes for installing these.
  9. lay out all the pieces and firgure out whats what. shiny side down. i started with a front flare. the flares use bolts and plastic press tabs to install. you do have to drill new holes for the press tabs. drilling the side near the gas tank filler scared me some, and the instructions dont mention it, so go easy on that side when you are drilling.
  10. mud busters fender flare and dump bed kit i got the mud busters fender flare kit for the defender hd 10 xt. it really helps prevent rocks and mud from getting thrown into the cab, especially if you have wheels//tires that stick out way past the body fenders. i havent put on the dump bed protectos yet, but i have the front and rear fender flares installed and its holding up well. grace mfg sent me the wrong hardware kit included, and when i notified them they sent out another hardware kit plus a t-shirt to make it right. fedex tore the package and the hardware fell out, so when i got it all that was in there was the shirt... I told mud busters again and they sent me ANOTHER hardware kit. They will stand behind their product. feel confident when you buy from them.
  11. the silver post is NEG - and the post with red tape on it is keyed HOT +. peel that tape off there and good to go. #6 metric lock nuts. pop out the center dash piece at the tabs and the accessory bus power bar is right there.
  12. just checking in to the forum with a new defender hd 10 xt.. its fun as hell. had to put money down and get in line about 5 weeks or so but it finally got here. it came with a front glass and beadlocker rims from the store i got it at. so far i have added a rear windshield, mud-busters fender flares, and a nilight LED light bar up front. horn and signals and reverse lights will be next probably.
  13. if you buy a front windshield, get a vented one or a flip one dont get the solid one it creates a duststorm inside the cab AMHIK and so far a back window and fender flares have not corrected it
