  1. How do I change the offset on rear tyres without using spacers? Not making any changes to the front - figure that will mess with steering
  2. Have this on my tractor. Apparently it’s only good for low speed. Higher speeds can suffer with the slushing effect, impact braking etc
  3. I’ve ordered the Rough Country 1.5” wheel spacers. Will give it a go.
  4. The idea of the wheel spacers is to not so much about side-to-side suspension movement/roll and more about widening the stance to improve lateral stability on slopes. This is a common thing to do on tractors - widen the rear wheels. Would like to know more about doing this on a Defender. Has anyone here tried it? Is it as simple as buying wheel spacers online? Are there any other fit issues with the rims/tyres that I need to factor in?
  5. Gurus I need some help with this one - the service manual (from brpmanuals.com) doesn't provide any useful information on the brake system. I first noticed brake fluid leaking in to the footwell near where the pedals are located. Upon inspection I noticed: 1. One of the brake fluid reservoirs was hall full (it was the reservoir at the rear - not sure which brakes this controls) 2. The rubber boot at top of the brake pedal was covered in fluid 3. On the other side of the boot (accessed from a removable panel in the front left wheel bay) I found a mechanism where the brake fluid hoses connect into. This mechanism had evidence of a leak as well - see photo below. This must be the main mechanism that is activated when brake pedal pushed. I can't see any obvious signs of the source of the leak. The hoses don't appear damaged. I am clueless as to what to check next. Do I have a faulty brake mechanism? Is there something in there I can tighten up? PS The bolts in photo below are on very tight... so tight they don't want to loosen very easily

  7. Hey All I have a 2018 Defender HD8 DPS. Running stock with the 14" Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tyres I recently purchased a weed spray unit that sits in the rear tray. Weights about 500 kgs when full of liquid, which maxes out the capacity of the Defender. It's created a few challenges - keen for advice on best way to improve. 1. The rear sag. Improved by adjusting rear suspension to highest (stiffest) setting. 2. Understeer. The heavy weight on the rear has created less traction on the front wheels, creates some under steer. Not sure how to fix?? PS: I have the front suspension on the softest (stock) setting. 3. Stability. The additional weight and increased centre of gravity feels like there is greater chance of a rollover on hilly terrain. Would wheel spacers help with lateral stability? Can I keep the stock wheels if I do install wheel spacers? Should I add a counter weight to the front to help with front/back stability? This may help with understeer issue too - but also concerned it will overload the vehicle? Thanks legends
  8. Thanks @Jerry this is perfect!! Out of interest, I found what looks to be a spare set of wires (inserted into the black plastic switch/block to the left of the main block. Any idea what this is for?

  10. Hey Mark what is the dial in the top left of your roof? Looks like an integrated slope angle measuring device...? If yes, where did you pick this up from? Keen to get one for myself.
  11. I have similar question. I want to get wiring access to the rocker switches on the left side, but the dash and the small storage compartment get in the way. Keen to find some guides on how to remove correctly
  12. Nice work. I have just purchased my 1st Defender and have a LED light bar to install (not from Can-Am). Looking for some instructions on the following: (1) How to connect into the existing wiring to add more lights and switches. I am not experienced at auto-electrical so need some of the basics explained. Any ideas on where to start? (2) How to dismantle the dash to get access to the wiring etc. Just got my Defender so not keen on breaking the dash yet!! My light bar is not from Can-Am so I don't have a part number to look up instructions. Do you have a reference I can use? PS: is there a "mechanics" manual which provides more detail than the owners manual?
