I just brought home my brand new Can-Am defender limited max. Would not start to pull off the trailer. Voltage on display was low (11.5 amps). Jumped the machine, got it running but voltage continued to drop after unhooked from the truck. Charge the battery all night. Drove it around the next day at 12.5 A and slowly drop to 11.3 A. Turn the machine off and now it won’t start again. Anybody have any ideas, this is literally a brand new machine?  So disgusted by this…

Back to the dealer, you should have 12.6-12.8 volts for a fully charged battery. My guess is you have a bad battery, a parasitic loss (wiring that's touching the frame) a faulty voltage regulator or a bad stator.

You can check the charging circuit first by starting the machine and putting a DC volt meter across the terminals, you should see 13 -15 volts if you rev it slightly, if not check the wiring to the regulator to make sure its connected.🙂
